Job Details
This is a 1099 Contract position. Call volume varies but is typically between 2-5 calls per day. Pay is based on the number of calls completed. Pay starts at $35 per ticket.
You will be completing hardware part replacements for Dell and Lenovo warranty services.
Pay period -every Friday after the first week of completing tickets.
You must have a reliable form of transportation to run these calls.
You must have access to a computer and the internet to log onto your portal.
Tickets are run Monday through Friday. You must be able to log into your tech portal every workday by 9 am to accept, code (update status), and map out your calls.
You will be responsible for contacting your customers and confirming a window to go onsite to complete the service.
Parts will be provided for you by the manufacturers. They are typically held at FedEx for you to pick up in the morning. You will be provided with shipping labels and materials to return the removed parts.

Position Summary:
The Michigan Natural Features Inventory, a program of MSU Extension, is hiring up to twelve seasonal field technicians to conduct plant species surveys and collect plot based vegetative data on Federal, State, Municipal, NGO, and/or private lands.
Seasonal field technicians will be responsible for traveling to remote areas, preparing for and conducting rare and invasive plant species surveys; compiling plant species lists; providing descriptions of survey areas and current threats; capturing GPS data including survey locations of rare species and priority invasive species and survey tracks; taking quality photos, documenting rare plant populations using MNFI field forms or other specified monitoring data; collecting and labeling voucher specimens of new county records; reporting findings at weekly or biweekly intervals; transferring data to excel spreadsheets; collecting plot-based vegetative data, and writing summary reports of work accomplished.
Desired Qualifications
Preference will be given to applicants with intermediate to expert botanical skills in the identification of Michigan plants species and demonstrated field work experience.
Strong work ethic, the ability to work independently in remote areas, and be able navigate in the field via map, compass and GPS.
Ability to stay in hotels or campgrounds for up to a week at a time.
Available during late May through the end of September, but we may be able to accommodate those who are only available for a shorter time frame, or may be able to support work into October.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
The scope of work to be performed by the Electronic Technician includes, but is not limited to, testing, inspecting, installing, maintenance and repair of all signal equipment and may be required to perform digging, trenching, and painting duties while working independently. Observes safe work performance standards and operations in completion of daily tasks and provide prompt reporting in cases of accidents, injuries, and illnesses. Attends safety briefings when assigned by Foreman, observes safety compliance, maintains qualifications (GCOR) and coordinates with other departments. Monitors and ensures that all necessary tools and materials for completion of work is provided. Participates in the planning and directing of testing and maintenance of signal equipment such as relays, batteries, switch machines, signal fixtures, cable, and drag equipment detectors. This position works within the guidelines of the System Safety Program by being alert o physical hazards which affect operations; including the modification of recognition or cessation of operations when conditions exist or could develop which that may conflict with a safe operating environment for Amtrak or others.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* Conduct testing for switch machinery, batteries for plant grounds, relays and cable for specifications, track signals, circuits for route locking, crossing track, locking points and balanced air, air compressors and record findings in accordance with AMT 27.
* Inspects test signal apparatus and systems and records the findings including the results from above in accordance with AMT 27.
* Maintains and repairs the above in accordance with AMT 23 and the special instructions governing the construction of Signals and interlocking.
* Assists Signalman in performance of assigned duties and conducts his/her own equipment tests and records results.
* Works with the Foreman to maintain all small tools and equipment conducting daily inventories to ensure good working order.
* Responds to signal failures, answers trouble calls for signal failures and reports to the Foreman
* Assist in marking out where cables are located; installation of new movement ties; switch inspections, surfacing and to provide generators for power outage.
* Perform carpentry, plumbing, and electrical tasks as needed including pipefitting and low voltage 220 voltage electrical work.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
* Applicants will be required to qualify for the position by passing the electronic technician examination for communications prepared by System Communications Engineering Department.
* The technician must be familiar with the division reporting structure, possess knowledge of data and voice circuit electronics, and have general knowledge of electronics.
* Must be capable of learning, understanding, and maintaining Amtrak's cable plant.
* Must be a minimum of 18 years of age and a high school graduate.
* Applicants must have a valid driver's license on the date of hire.
* Must be able to read and understand job information written in English.
* Applicants must be able to perform basic mathematical computations including fractions and decimals.

The primary role of the Telemetry Technician is to monitor non-invasive cardiac activity on patients by means of a continuous display of the patient cardiac rhythm and also to monitor patients in the Emergency Department that are in danger of self-harm via closed circuit TV. The technician is able to interpret the rhythm and inform the nursing unit appropriately. Duties also include initiation and discontinuation of telemetry monitoring, and overseeing the pacer phone on off shifts and weekends. Employees providing direct patient care must demonstrate competencies specific to the population served.

Work which produces very high levels of mental/visual fatigue, e.g. CRT work between 70 and 90 percent of the time, and work involving extremely close tolerances and considerable hand/eye coordination for sustained periods of time.
The job produces some physical demands. Typical of jobs that include regular walking, standing, stooping, bending, sitting, and some lifting of light weight objects.
* Monitors rhythms, sets alarm parameters as directed by nurse or physician, performs arrhythmia analysis.
* Documents cardiac rhythm strips, rhythm changes and communicates with nurses (e.g. parameter changes).
* Communicates with nursing units regarding changes in patient telemetry status.
* Initiates, discontinues, and does troubleshooting of telemetry on patients.
* Performs 12-lead EKG's, files print-outs every shift.
* Monitors battery life on equipment and changes as needed.
* Applies continuous pulse ox monitors.
* Documents set up and adverse events related to continuous pulse ox monitoring.
* Communicates changes in pulse ox regularly to Respiratory Therapist.
* Acts as concierge to all visitors, providing direction and other information or assistance to facilitate customer satisfaction.
* Assists with collection of patient data to ensure quality and safety.
* Attends required in service programs, meetings and seminars.
* Demonstrates a positive attitude with co-workers and allows for flexibility in meeting the needs of the department.
* Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State and local laws and regulations, the Compliance Accountability Program, Code of Ethics, as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in manner that reflects honest, ethical and professional behavior.
* May also monitor other types of equipment as trained, for patient safety.
* Maintains unsupervised access to the unit medication room(s) for stocking and/or retrieving supplies.
* Maintains a safe workplace by keeping work area free of hazards and correcting and/or properly reporting any safety hazards.
* Uses correct body positioning, proper body mechanics to avoid injury, utilizes safe work practices (e.g. pushing vs. pulling, patient transfer/lifting devices, etc.) and uses personal protective equipment when necessary.

Job Details:
This is a 1099/per call position
Pay is based solely on the number of calls completed.
Calls start at $35 and go up based on distance traveled
Pay period: Every Friday after the first week worked
Tickets are run Monday-Friday during the day shift. Candidates must be regularly available a minimum of 3 weekdays to be considered.
Call volume is variable but is usually 2-5 calls per day
You will complete certifications from Dell and Lenovo as part of your onboarding. Certifications are online and free to you.
You must have a reliable form of transportation and a valid driver's license to run these calls. You will be visiting multiple work sites throughout your day.
You must have access to a computer and the Internet to log onto your portal each day.
You must be available to log into your tech portal each morning you are working by 9 am to code your calls and map out your route for the day.
The manufacturer has completed troubleshooting and shipped a part prior to your ticket being issued to you.
You will confirm service times with the customer in your tech portal. Services will be completed at the customer site (residential and commercial)
You will pick up parts daily from the assigned Fed Ex or UPS store for your territory before going onsite. Once all calls are completed for the day drop off the old parts with the pre-paid label that is provided.

Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Must be comfortable with daily local travel
