The Building Maintenance Associate is responsible for performing a variety of skilled duties in one or more of the building trades, such as painting, carpentry, minor electrical, cement masonry, dry wall or other recognized crafts for the purpose of maintaining, repairing buildings and facilities. This role may also perform certain preventative maintenance functions on material handling equipment and occasionally must work between both locations.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Constructs and repairs structural woodwork and equipment; works from blueprints, drawings, or oral instructions.
Builds, repairs, and installs counters, cabinets, benches, partitions, floors, doors, building framework, and trim; uses carpenter's hand tools and power tools.
Installs glass in windows, doors, and partitions; replaces damaged ceiling tile, floor tile, and sheet plastic wall coverings.
Prepares and paints walls and woodwork or performs other types of refinish; installs or repairs carpet; performs custodial duties as required.
Assists as directed in the operation and maintenance of mechanical systems, such as plumbing, heating, ventilating, air conditioning, steam system, automatic temperature control, electrical; pool filtration and ozone system, operates forklift or blower or other similar equipment as needed.
May train staff on warehouse cleaning responsibilities.
Performs preventive maintenance on equipment and maintain accurate records of preventative maintenance schedules.
May be responsible for maintaining equipment warranties and maintenance agreements for machinery and equipment.
Ensures all work is performed with strict adherence to communicated safety protocols and manufacturer's specifications.
Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
College diploma in an applicable field required, trade certificate an asset.
2 to 4 years of related experience in related industry or area.
Demonstrated problem solving abilities in order to troubleshoot equipment and maintenance issues.
Demonstrated accountability for quality, accuracy and adherence to work instructions.
Work occasionally requires creative or innovative thinking, problem solving, or idea generation in carrying out duties.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed in a warehouse environment with exposure to: (a) fluctuating heat and cold temperatures; (b) some noise associated with forklifts and other power equipment; (c) some electrical hazards; and (d) WHMIS chemicals.
PPE safety equipment must be worn and precautions exercised.
Position requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly throughout an 8-hourshift.
Duties may require a moderate level of sustained visual attention for periods of time and moderate manual dexterity on a regular basis.
Work requires the ability to stand and sit for extended periods of time.

Job Details:
This is a 1099/per call position
Pay is based solely on the number of calls completed.
Calls start at $35 and go up based on distance traveled
Pay period: Every Friday after the first week worked
Tickets are run Monday-Friday during the day shift. Candidates must be regularly available a minimum of 3 weekdays to be considered.
Call volume is variable but is usually 2-5 calls per day
You will complete certifications from Dell and Lenovo as part of your onboarding. Certifications are online and free to you.
You must have a reliable form of transportation and a valid driver's license to run these calls. You will be visiting multiple work sites throughout your day.
You must have access to a computer and the Internet to log onto your portal each day.
You must be available to log into your tech portal each morning you are working by 9 am to code your calls and map out your route for the day.
The manufacturer has completed troubleshooting and shipped a part prior to your ticket being issued to you.
You will confirm service times with the customer in your tech portal. Services will be completed at the customer site (residential and commercial)
You will pick up parts daily from the assigned Fed Ex or UPS store for your territory before going onsite. Once all calls are completed for the day drop off the old parts with the pre-paid label that is provided.
