The Fiber Splicer is responsible for the installation, splicing, and testing of fiber optic cable to support the delivery of high-speed internet and communication services to residential customers. This role plays a critical part in the construction and activation of Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) networks. The Fiber Splicer must be skilled in handling single-mode and multi-mode fiber and conducting OTDR and power meter testing to ensure high-performance connections. The position requires both field and occasional indoor work, including working in handholes, pedestals, enclosures, and central offices or cabinets. A strong understanding of industry safety standards, construction drawings, and network documentation is essential. The Fiber Splicer is responsible for the installation, splicing, and testing of fiber optic cable to support the delivery of high-speed internet and communication services to residential customers.
