This role will be 100% remote with overnight travel to customer sites in a regional area. Periodic travel may be required outside of the geographical region. The preferred location for this role is Florida.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Telecommunications Installer (Level IV) is responsible for complex installation and modification of circuits, power transitions, and equipment testing on active power systems. This role includes troubleshooting, overseeing critical work activities, and performing Site Supervisor duties to ensure timely resolution of customer issues and successful project execution. This role will report to the Southeast Region Services Manager.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
As the Telecommunications Installer (Level IV), you will:
ยท Perform circuit modifications, additions, and removals on active power distribution systems.
ยท Execute power transition operations and test/turn-up of power system equipment.
ยท Oversee volatile and high-risk work activities on job site.
ยท Serve as Site Supervisor, ensuring project compliance, safety, and quality standards.
ยท Troubleshoot complex issues using experience and sound judgment.
ยท Plan and accomplish tasks to meet customer goals and resolve key issues in a timely manner.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
ยท High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of six (6) years of experience in DC power equipment installation is required.
ยท Computer skills including Microsoft Outlook / Excel / Word
ยท A valid driver's license.
ยท Ability and willingness to travel approximately 100% and willingness to work different shifts (swing shifts).

What does travel look like?
You will be required to travel within a designated territory to various installation sites via company vehicle or via air travel. Travel is typically booked 1-2 weeks in advance for project planning purposes. Your weekly M-F travel will be extensive. This will include day trips, overnight trips, up to a week at a time. Your typical hours will vary depending on Customer needs. Overtime is common in this position but not guaranteed.
The territory for this Installer position is Manhattan and New York City, but can also support Westchester County and northern New Jersey when needed.

What you will be doing
โข Collaborate with Installation Project Manager to schedule product installation in coordination with equipment delivery, customer availability, and construction schedules.
โข Prior to installation, verify rough-in dimensions and utilities are adequate to meet equipment specifications. Ensure doorways, elevators, and hallways are sufficient to allow equipment transport to installation site.
โข Perform installation of STERIS products, including, but not limited to: uncrating; assembling; setting or lifting product into place; leveling; connecting utilities; and testing unit.
โข Complete service documentation electronically.
โข Ensure Customer satisfaction through post-installation activities to include disposal of all associated packing and shipping crate material, ensuring equipment is wiped down and fingerprints are removed, and addressing any questions/issues before leaving the site.
What you will need to be qualified for this position
โข High School Diploma/GED with 5+ years of recent mechanical experience in a construction or HVAC installation/repair field or Associate's degree in Electronics, Mechanical or similar degree, plus 1+ year(s) of related mechanical experience.

Pay range for this opportunity is $60,137.50 - $77,825.00. This position is eligible for bonus participation.

What does travel look like?
You will be required to travel within a designated territory to various installation sites via company vehicle or via air travel. Your typical hours will vary depending on Customer needs. Overtime is common in this position but not guaranteed.

What you'll do as an Installer
* Collaborate with Installation Project Manager to schedule product installation in coordination with equipment delivery, customer availability, and construction schedules.
* Prior to installation, verify rough-in dimensions and utilities are adequate to meet equipment specifications. Ensure doorways, elevators, and hallways are sufficient to allow equipment transport to installation site.
* Perform installation of STERIS products, including, but not limited to: uncrating; assembling; setting or lifting product into place; leveling; connecting utilities; and testing unit.
* Complete service documentation electronically.
* Ensure Customer satisfaction through post-installation activities to include disposal of all associated packing and shipping crate material, ensuring equipment is wiped down and fingerprints are removed, and addressing any questions/issues before leaving the site.
The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed
Required:
* High School Diploma/GED with 5+ years of recent mechanical experience in a construction or HVAC installation/repair field or Associate's degree in Electronics, Mechanical or similar degree, plus 1+ year(s) of related mechanical experience.
* Strong technical and troubleshooting skills.
* Excellent interpersonal and Customer communication skills (verbal and written).
* Proficiency in computers and Windows software.
* Flexibility to handle multiple and changing priorities.
* Ability to work flexible hours, sometimes outside "normal business hours" and travel extensively to support business needs.
* Valid driver's license with clean driving record.

Comply with system update requirements of all company/customer installation documents.
Ability to resolve any project related issues utilizing defined processes.
Read, understand, and apply job/equipment specifications, installation documents, schematics, and test records. Demonstrated proficiency in generating MOP's, High-risk activity reports, work schedules, test records, and project completion reports.
Perform in-process and final quality audits to ensure all items meet or exceed industry and/or customer standards. Interact with all members of the organization including Installation, Engineering, Project Management
Be capable of performing the following work operations/job activities without supervision or direction:
Physically place, remove, or modify working and non-working equipment.
Install Cable trays and/or racking from drawings and Engineering documents.
Install Telecommunicationsequipment cabinets and frames, data servers, switches, routers, repeaters, bridges, gateways, multiplexers, transceivers, firewalls as required.
Identify, label, measure, terminate and physically route the cables that supply AC and/or DC power or transmit data in various technical spaces.
Conduct testing and document performance characteristics of hardware and software; determine efficiency, reliability, and compatibility with existing system.
Perform test and turn-up as well as other integration activities.
Resolve equipment and technical issues as they arise.
Perform quality validation on in-process and completed work.
Perform other duties as requested.
Specific duties may vary or evolve over time based on business and client needs.
Core Experience:
Minimum 5+years' installation experience or combination of experience and training as determined by company management. Prior leadership experiences required. Verizon Installation experience a plus!
High school diploma with two years technical school or a combination of training and experience related to telecommunications field installations.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to conduct instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving variables in standardized situations.
Must have proficient laptop computer skills and experience with applications.
Ability to fully understand all company/customer policies and procedures and safety requirements.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams) skills.
Must have a valid driver's license and be able to pass all pre-employment background checks and must be insurable.
Physical/Work Environment:

Travel required in your home region utilizing a company vehicle. Must be able to work a variety of shifts and travel with overnight stays, if required. Expenses are 100% paid by the employer.

Duties
Perform assigned repairs and installations in compliance with manufacturer standards, OEM guidelines, and company specifications
Diagnose and troubleshoot any technical problems
Maintain adequate knowledge of repair and upfitting procedures
Safely move vehicles and equipment throughout the shop and property
Properly maintain tools and equipment when performing service work
Always follow all safety procedures and policies
Maintain a clean and well-organized work area
Read and comprehend all the work and installation instructions
Install a variety of light and heavy-duty bodies and equipment
Installation includes:
