POSITION DESIGNATION
This job classification has been designated as a safety sensitive job classification in accordance with the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act, 63 O.S., § 427.1 et seq., (OSCN 2019), effective August 29, 2019. JOB SUMMARY
This posting will be used to fill a current vacancy in the Line Maintenance Division of the Utilities Department within the City of Oklahoma City. An eligibility list will be established or supplemented for filling future vacancies per provisions of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) Collective Bargaining Agreement. Employees of this classification perform work of a specialized nature, involving installation, repair and maintenance of water distribution and/or wastewater collection systems. The skills and knowledge required can be acquired on the job. The worker is part of a crew. Crew members work in close proximity to one another, while completing assigned tasks, requiring cooperative effort. The employee must follow safety regulations and procedures specific to each work environment and assigned tasks. Work will include occasional contact with the public to answer questions specific to the crew's function with the supervisor present to respond to unusual situations. Upon receipt of oral and written instructions from the immediate supervisor, the worker completes assigned tasks. Essential job functions include: Performing a variety of routine maintenance and servicing operations for the City's water distribution system and wastewater collection systems. Installing, maintaining and repairing activities are performed on water lines, water meters, water valves, fire hydrants, sewer lines, pumps, manholes, and other system components.

Eligibility List: An eligibility list will be established from this posting consisting of applicants who receive a score of 70 percent or better. Your Opportunity
The Herdsperson assists other Herd Technicians in routine animal care and general farm tasks to ensure the welfare/well-being of the animals. Moves/drives cattle in a low-stress manner.
Assists in the shipment of fat cattle by opening gates, driving cattle to shipping areas for weighing; counting cattle and separating strays; checking withdrawals.
Medically treats livestock according to protocols established by management and consulting veterinarian; administers treatment in a humane manner.
Internally examines dead animals to determine the cause of death. Processes cattle by ear tagging, administering vaccines, implants, parasitics, and other preventive measures; sorts, re-implants, mass treats, and re-vaccinates cattle according to established protocol; administers vaccines and treatment according to label specifications.
Ensures that no animal leaves the facility without meeting applicable withdrawals by maintaining thorough and accurate records.
Feed:
Monitors cattle intake and assigns subsequent distribution of feed by familiarizing self with cattle eating patterns according to gender, days on feed, weather, and breed; maximizes feed intake of cattle by following guidelines issued by consulting nutritionist.
Ensures accurate feed delivery by monitoring feed bunks and assessing feed distribution, quantity, type, and timeliness of delivery.
Ensures that newly received cattle are fed in a timely manner by coordinating feeding with the cattle department.
Minimizes truck downtime by scheduling maintenance/repair; develops and implements feed truck preventative maintenance program.
Maintains cattle feeding records by compiling, entering, and analyzing information.
Fills in when a driver is absent or as necessary by operating a feed truck, hay machine or tractor.
Mill:

Responsibilities
To perform in a pleasant, professional, safe, and efficient manner, a combination of duties mainly related to, but not limited to, all mechanical maintenance throughout the plant.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Interprets and works from prints and technical instructions.
Furnishes and uses own complement of hand tools, company tools and equipment.
Keeps work area and equipment neat and clean.
Subject to shift work.
Installs, tests, maintains and repairs all mechanical equipment in accordance with regulations and specifications; fits, assembles, erects, installs, maintains, and repairs mechanical plant and equipment.
Inspects, tests and aligns testing equipment throughout the plant.
Installs, troubleshoots, adjusts, services, maintains and repairs mechanical equipment for various types of lifts and conveyor belts.
Must possess a working knowledge of maintenance and welding.
Maintains the machines and equipment in efficient operating condition, performs duties such as dismantling, moving, installing, commissioning, adjusting, or repairing machines, power shafting pulleys, conveyors, hoists, and other equipment; uses hoist dollies, rollers, tracks, and cranes (mobile), to aid in moving machinery, uses wrenches, hammers, and other hand tools in erecting or dismantling machines, and installing new or repaired parts, uses measuring devices (such as squares) in installing the machine and equipment in correct positions, and aligning power shafting and pulleys.
Must be able to perform duties in confined spaces, heights, same position for prolonged durations, and in any type of climate.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent from accredited institution is required
Able to work different extended hours, holidays and/or overtime as required
Speak, read, write and understand English
Ability to work independently, without constant supervision
Able to work inside and outside in year-round weather conditions
In good physical condition, able to lift and carry up to 75 lbs., sit and stand for extended periods of time, kneel, climb ladders and walk on mixed terrain and in confined spaces

What You Will Do
As an EHS Intern Technician, you will be responsible for implementing EHS program elements, performing inspections, conducting inventories related to machine guarding, equipment and associated LOTO points, and assisting with communication and training.

Participate in and support GEMBA walks for all departments.
