ABOUT THE POSITION:
The primary responsibility of the Package Handler/Parcel Assistant is to move packages throughout the facility. Incumbent will be required to safely perform assigned tasks while meeting predetermined standards. In this flexible position, the incumbent will rotate into several areas to perform tasks including loading, unloading, palletizing, scanning, quality assurance assessment, moving items with a forklift and operating a switcher as assigned by Dock Manager or Lead Parcel Sorter. This is a part-time position. Available hours are based on business needs, but typically range from 15-20 hours per week with flexing up to full-time hours during our peak period which is mid November through Christmas.

Primary Responsibilities:
Repair equipment using the appropriate tools to conform to U-Haul standards.
Perform work in a timely manner.
Determine the causes of operating errors and decide what to do about them.
Continued U-Haul equipment education is required.
Establish an effective route in the assigned area to repair all down or inoperable equipment and ensure that all equipment has been repaired or scheduled for repair.
Maintain inventory of all repair parts and ensure that all parts used are charged out.
Team Members are expected to willingly lend assistance in additional areas as necessary, following the directives and guidance of their supervisor.
