Kilgore College is a comprehensive public community college with a campus in Kilgore and an extension center in Longview, Texas. The Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) accredits the East Texas Police Academy, an instructional program of the College. Courses offered include the basic peace officer, jailer, telecommunicator courses, and various specialized classes necessary for upgrading and maintaining the high standards of individual officers and law enforcement agencies.
Position responsibilities:
Teach a wide range of law enforcement-related topics, too numerous to list here, based on their area of expertise and experience.
Teach in-service training courses, although there are some opportunities to teach in the Basic Peace Officer Course depending on the applicant's experience and availability.
Responsible for submitting all training records, training reports, and required documentation for the reporting of training as required by TCOLE and/or Kilgore College, with minimal supervision.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Position Requirements:
A demonstrated history of high-quality instructional experience in the field of law enforcement / police science / law enforcement tactics, with instructional experience at a police academy in Texas being required.
Minimum of 5 years full-time sworn law enforcement experience in Texas.
Current, valid TCOLE Peace Officer license with Advanced or Master Peace Officer certificate.
Current, valid TCOLE Instructor certificate, with verifiable instructional experience at an agency, police academy, or other training institution.
No history of disciplinary action against any TCOLE license or certificate upheld by TCOLE or SOAH.
High degree of computer proficiency with Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, or the Macintosh equivalents of those programs.
Clearly superb written and verbal communications skills.
Highly motivated individual with very little need for close supervision.
Ability and willingness to regularly teach in satellite locations ranging up to two hours' drive from the Kilgore office location.
The ability and willingness to teach nights and weekends as needed.
The ability to commit to instructional obligations without need to change them on short notice due to work/personal scheduling conflicts.

With consideration that the position requires a minimum of 5 years experience in law enforcement, pay for 5 years experience is $59,193 for an associates degree, to $73,054 for a doctorate.

Job Description
Southwest Minnesota State University's Undergraduate Social Work program is hiring full-time, probationary position that would be responsible to teach four courses each semester. This faculty would teach any/all of the components of the generalist social work curriculum. This position also serves the online students in the social work program both in teaching and advising duties. About 80% of students in the social work program are online students, so this position would need to fully teach online asynchronous courses in the program curriculum as well as on campus sections, based in Marshall, Minnesota.
With 327 current undergraduate students - more than 80% enrolled online- our program is expanding rapidly. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality online education and advising students both academically and professionally, in alignment with Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) accreditation standards. The Assistant Professor is responsible for student learning in his/her discipline of expertise. The instructor also assists the instructional leader and other administrative personnel in activities designed to enhance the effectiveness of the instructional process and to support the mission of the College. Position responsibilities:
Instruct students in specific areas and evaluate their learning progress.
Keep abreast of developments in the discipline and in instructional methodology.
Support and participate in appropriate professional development programs and activities.
Support and adhere to the academic policies and procedures of the college, the division, and the department.
Interpret college policies for students in a positive manner.
Develop, maintain, and follow syllabi for courses.
Participate with appropriate administration in the development of guidelines for classroom management.
Participate in advising, registration, and graduation as needed.
Communicate with the appropriate chair and/or dean as to the need for instructional materials, equipment, and professional development.
Maintain a harmonious and collegial relationship with other members of the faculty and staff.
Maintain professional conduct and appearance.
Administer student appraisals of courses in compliance with college policy.
Attend necessary conferences and seminars to remain current in the field.
Represent Kilgore College through involvement in college and community activities.
Serve on various departmental, divisional, and/or college committees.
Expectations for this position may include the following: teach in afternoons and/or evenings (non-peak times); teach dual credit classes in high schools; develop and teach web classes; develop and teach hybrid or remote classes; and use instructional technology in the classroom.
All full-time faculty are required to complete online course certification through the KC Faculty Innovation Center within their first year of employment.

Minimum Position Requirements:
A minimum of an associate's degree in the teaching discipline, as necessary to meet the minimum requirements of the institution's accrediting agencies.
Appropriate work experience in the process technology industry.
At least three years teaching experience preferred.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to work in a typical classroom/instructional lab environment and get along in a courteous and professional manner with a diverse group of faculty, staff and students.
Ability to handle high levels of stress

Job Description
Southwest Minnesota State University's Undergraduate Social Work program is hiring full-time, probationary position that would be responsible to teach four courses each semester. This faculty would teach any/all of the components of the generalist social work curriculum. This position also serves the online students in the social work program both in teaching and advising duties. About 80% of students in the social work program are online students, so this position would need to fully teach online asynchronous courses in the program curriculum as well as on campus sections, based in Marshall, Minnesota.
With 327 current undergraduate students - more than 80% enrolled online- our program is expanding rapidly. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality online education and advising students both academically and professionally, in alignment with Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) accreditation standards. Applicants must live in the United States at time of employment.
Minimum Qualifications
* Master's degree in social work from a CSWE accredited university
* Two years of post MSW work experience
* Documented teaching experience in social work in higher education
