Job Duties (Adjunct Nursing Lab and Clinical Faculty): For each course in which the Instructor is assigned, she/he will: Provides clinical instruction and demonstration of nursing skills and procedures to students. Attends and participates in new nursing student orientations for clinical sites. Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with clinical agency management and staff. Works closely with the clinical coordinator. Utilizes instructional methods that promote student development of critical thinking, sound decision making, and clinical competency. Design and implement teaching strategies that will assist a nursing student to meet the course outcomes. Completes all clinical documentation accurately and thoroughly and submits to the clinical coordinator. Refers all students to the laboratory coordinator for remedial activities as needed. Completes a clinical debriefing linking course outcomes to clinical practice during post-conference activities. Ensures students have access to student assignments to have adequate time to pre-plan for clinical experience. Plans, reviews, and corrects students' clinical assignments. Assigns patients to student's care based on the clinical outcomes of that particular session. Evaluate each assigned nursing student's achievement and progress. Plan and provide clinical experiences that reflect an understanding of the philosophy, objectives, and curriculum of the Nursing Education Program. Maintain high standards and promote excellence in education. Serve as a role model for students in professional interaction with other health works and with clinical facilities. Be prompt and punctual in reporting for work, in meeting classes, and in keeping office hours. Become familiar with institutional policies and procedures as outlined in the College Catalog, the Faculty Handbook, the Nursing Faculty Handbook, and the Clinical Instructor Handbook. SUMMARY: The Senior Instructor is responsible for developing and teaching RSTI course curriculum. He/She will be responsible for installation/de-installation, and maintenance of RSTI lab equipment, as well as occasional on-site training and service. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Have a complete understanding of the applicable curriculum so as to be able to teach material to the students in a successful manner. Ability to communicate difficult concepts clearly to the students. Plan properly so as to have everything needed for a successful class to be ready on time and accurately put together including equipment readiness. The company provides tools to assist in accomplishing this such as the training schedule board and other scheduling tools. Installs, De-installs, and repairs and maintains lab equipment. Develops courses and training materials from conception to completion including various media, handouts, syllabus procedures, quizzes and exams, student evaluations and lab activities. Coordinates with other RSTI departments to ensure everything is properly scheduled Stays up to date on related technology Offers suggestions for additional curriculum or updating current curriculum. Maintain clean and orderly work area including desk and surrounding area Ensure class rooms are clean and orderly at the end of each session so the next class the room is professional Perform service work at customer sites, as necessary Travel is required up to 10% Requirements and Qualifications Associates or Bachelor's degree in electronics or commensurate experience. 3 Years teaching experience in related field 2 Years' experience working in related modality P Mathematical and SCIENTIFIC SKILLS Ability to work with mathematical concepts and conversions. Ability to work with statistical data and apply concepts such as whole numbers and fractions, ratios and proportions and work with measurement devices. Ability to work with and convert industry related units. Ability to accurately identify and analyze trends. Reasoning Ability: Ability to handle multiple and changing priorities concurrently. Ability to work with practical problems and deal with a variety of variables. Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Ability to direct the emphasis and direction of others and groups in an orderly and professional fashion. Ability to identify critical issues and recommend appropriate solutions in a timely manner.
