Since 1980, Parkland College's College for Kids (CFK) enrichment summer camp has provided area youth with challenging, exciting, and safe experiences designed to ignite a lifelong desire for learning. College for Kids provides the opportunity for students ages 6-13 years to explore areas of study and interest in a non-graded, fun-filled environment through quality, hands-on experiences. Position provides flexibility as instructors may submit 1-4 class proposals. Instructors may elect to teach one or both sessions.
Instructors are paid for 16 instructional hours per class. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience and ranges from $25 to $35 per hour. Hiring is contingent upon the course meeting the minimum class size and submission of the finalized class curriculum and supply list by a pre-established deadline in April.
All CFK classes are held on the main campus of Parkland College. More information is available at the College for Kids website.

Program Goals:
Summer CFK programs are designed to attain the following goals:
* Provide hands-on explorations in specialized fields such as science, math, language arts, culinary, computer science, technology, humanities and fine arts.
* Provide challenging experiences and intellectual stimulation that develop students' special interests.
* Expose students to a learning atmosphere that will motivate them to achieve their highest potential.
Essential Job Functions:
* Submit complete daily lesson plans, course syllabus, supply list and budget by established deadlines.
* Commit to teach during the ENTIRE CLASS TIME on the eight days of the session.
* Attend mandatory CFK Staff Orientation on Thursday, June 4, 2026.
* Maintain high standard of teaching and learning in classroom.
* Actively engage all students in learning each day.
* Responsible for classroom management.
Minimum Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree.
* Two or more years' experience in education (teaching) or related field; experience teaching children ages six (6) through thirteen (13) years old preferred.
* Prospective new hires will successfully complete a post offer, pre-employment criminal background check with fingerprinting. The background check review includes, but is not limited to, exclusionary offenses per the Illinois School Code and Title IV of the Higher Education Act.
* Demonstrated passion and proficiency in the proposed subject area.
* Provide classroom and/or online instruction to meet stated course objectives.
* Patience when working with children.
* Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills.

School of Art & Design University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign The School of Art & Design, housed within the College of Fine and Applied Arts at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, invites applications for two full-time tenure-track faculty positions in User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) Design at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, with an anticipated start date of August 16, 2026.
These positions will play a central role in the development and instruction of the BS in Computer Science + Design degree, a collaborative program that bridges design and technology. Faculty will contribute to three programs including Graphic Design, Industrial Design and Studio Art to foster interdisciplinary teaching and research.
We seek a candidate with a terminal degree (MFA, PhD, or equivalent) in a field engaging art, design, and computation. The ideal candidate will be both a practicing artist/critical designer-with a strong record of public engagement through exhibitions, installations, and/or performances-and a researcher whose writing and publishing investigate the social, cultural, and aesthetic dimensions of computation. Candidates should demonstrate expertise in computational media and contribute through creative interventions in areas such as but not limited to:
* Artificial Intelligence as medium and cultural system
* Platform culture, computational logics, and interface aesthetics
* Digital rights, privacy, and ethics of computation
* Race, gender, and technology
* Algorithmic bias, equity, and social justice
* Design for Accessibility
* Bio-art, Art-science, Data Visualization, and emerging crossover disciplines, including Behavioral Sciences
* Code as art
We are looking for an artist-designer-researcher whose creative practice and critical inquiry together advance new ways of engaging with computation, interface, and interaction in their wider cultural, social, and political dimensions.
Context: The School of Art & Design
The School of Art and Design supports interdisciplinary and socially engaged creative practices and offers a range of programs, including undergraduate and/or graduate degrees and concentrations in Art Education, Art History, Fashion, Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Design for Responsible Innovation, New Media, Painting, Photography, Printmaking, Sculpture, and Studio Art. Our School emphasizes both technical excellence and conceptual rigor, encouraging students to challenge themselves and use their creative skills in building a better, more just and sustainable world.
In all areas, student and faculty work is supported by state-of-the-art labs for traditional and contemporary media, including spaces for digital imaging and printing, audio-visual production, rapid two- and three-dimensional prototyping, and darkroom photography. Facilities for bookbinding, letterpress, printmaking, and fashion design are also available.
Teaching Responsibilities:
The teaching load includes two courses per semester. The successful candidate will teach courses that position computation as an artistic and critical design medium, ranging from introductory coding for creative practice to advanced, research-driven practice and method-based seminars. Areas of teaching could include (but are not limited to): computational art, critical interface design, interactive art, data art, information art, net art, and related emerging practices. The candidate will contribute to both undergraduate and graduate curricula, mentor students across disciplines, and help shape the evolving identity of computational art and critical design within the School of Art and Design.
Minimum Qualifications
* Terminal degree (MFA, PhD, or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
* Evidence of an active creative practice with a strong record of public engagement through exhibition, installation, and/or performance.
* Evidence of critical research through writing, publishing, or equivalent scholarly contributions that engage computational media, design, and the arts.
* Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching, mentoring, and curriculum development at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
* Commitment to fostering an inclusive academic environment and contributing to the diversity of the School and University.
Preferred Qualifications:
* PhD in relevant discipline.
* Familiarity with and a critical perspective on historical approaches to experience design.
* Practice, teaching, and/or research that connect to one or more of the following areas of design: Gender and Design, Equity and Design, Indigenous Design Knowledges, and Design Futures.
* Familiarity with liberatory pedagogical approaches.
* A critical perspective on social biases embedded in technological systems.
* Experience teaching in a program that integrates Design, Technology, and Science.

Appointment Information
This is a 100% full-time Assistant/Associate Professor position, appointed on a nine-month basis. The expected start date is August 2026. The budgeted salary range for the position is $75,000 to $80,000 at the Assistant Professor level and $88,000 to $95,000 at the Associate Professor level, for a nine-month service basis. Final salary offered will be determined by a thorough assessment of available market data, internal salary equity, candidate experience and qualifications, collective bargaining agreements, and budget constraints.
This position is eligible for sponsorship except for sponsorship of a new H-1B petition that would incur the $100,000 fee.

The Department will support candidates with research focus and provide protected time for research and additional funding support. We also have resources for faculty career development. Clinical duties include assisting the department provide patient care in the hospital and outpatient clinics and perform administrative duties and University service as assigned. Requirements are an MD/DO degree or its foreign equivalent, eligible for an Illinois medical license, and Board certification or eligibility for certification in Pediatrics and Pediatric Nephrology. Some travel may be required between healthcare facilities.
The ideal candidate will be joining a pediatric nephrologist and one Nurse practitioner in a division that provides full range of inpatient and outpatient pediatric nephrology services including all standard forms of dialysis therapy and plasma exchange. Our short term goal is to have a Division with three faculty (positions already approved). Current specialty clinics include Hypertension clinic with ability to provide ABPM and Bone/metabolic disorder clinic in collaboration with Pediatric Endocrinology. You will do Collaborative work with our transplant surgeons in caring for kidney transplant recipients, including 2-4 new transplant every year. Inpatient call schedule will be 1:3 rotation. As the Division grows we anticipate additional provider recruitment.
Position Summary
The division of Pediatric Nephrology provides full service, providing care from neonatal to transition care for nephrology patients along with ESRD services. We work closely with our transplant surgeons and urologists and have an established pediatric transplant program. This is a unique opportunity for the successful candidate to advance a strong clinical and academic career in Pediatric Nephrology.
Duties & Responsibilities
* Provide diagnostic and treatment services to children with conditions affecting the kidney or urinary tract, bladder problems, or high blood pressure. Coordinate the efforts of related professionals to assure continuous availability of services. Monitor and take steps to enhance the quality of nephrology services delivered at UICOMP Department of Pediatrics and at UICOMP's main clinical partner, Children's Hospital of Illinois.
* Develop and work on educational programs and activities for medical students and residents in relation to pediatric nephrology.
* Maintain a spirit of inquiry and scholarship in the activities of the Nephrology Service.
* Perform administrative duties and University service as assigned.
