Art Appreciation is a general introduction to Art and a general educational elective. Subject matter includes a brief introduction to the nature and function of the visual arts, the visual elements and principles of design, an introduction to various art media, and a brief exploration of art history. The Art Department offers courses in Art Appreciation, Art History, History of Photography and Graphic Design, drawing, oil painting, watermedia, sculpture, ceramics, figure drawing, introduction to studio art, and photography.
