The Department of Mathematics & Statistics in the College of Science at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi (TAMUCC) invites applications for a full-time, 9-month tenure-track Assistant Professor of Data Science to begin Fall 2026. This position supports our rapidly growing Data Science graduate program. Ideal candidates for data science must have demonstrated ability to contribute to our core courses and potentially expand elective offerings in data science. The Department of Mathematics and Statistics strives to increase its research profile while maintaining excellence in teaching courses in the BS and MS programs in mathematics and MS in data science as well as service courses. The MS in Mathematics Program with its three tracks - Applied and Computational Mathematics, Statistics, and Mathematics Education - provides our students with preparation for careers in education, science, and industry and a solid foundation for further study in mathematics. Our Data Science MS program began in the Fall of 2023, and we are developing a new Ph.D. program in data science. The Department participates in interdisciplinary Ph.D. programs offered by the College of Science. Our department is active in various research areas across multiple mathematical concentrations, including modeling, differential equations, fluid dynamics, elasticity, electro and magneto-statics, porous media, microorganism swimming, fracture mechanics, analysis, statistics, mathematics education, and data science. Job Description
Tenure track appointment in the Department of Health and Kinesiology beginning Fall, 2026. The successful candidate will be a program faculty member in the Department's CAAHEP/CoAES accredited undergraduate exercise science program and will also teach exercise science courses at the master's level. Quality performance will be expected in teaching, professional growth and development, university service, and in the area of scholarly productivity. Position is open until filled with considerations beginning immediately.
SALARY: Nine-month, commensurate with rank, experience, and qualifications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Required Qualifications:
A doctorate or ABD in exercise physiology, or closely related discipline, from a regionally accredited institution.
Ability to teach undergraduate/graduate coursework in exercise physiology and strength & conditioning program implementation, as well as from one or more of the following areas: introduction to exercise science; anatomical kinesiology/biomechanics; exercise and aging; youth fitness/performance; and health/performance nutrition.
American College of Sports Medicine membership.
Willingness to instruct courses in one or both summer semesters for additional compensation as departmental need dictates.
Willingness to instruct courses in a virtual format as departmental need dictates.
Willingness to work in a varied student needs environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
ACSM-EP, ACSM-CEP, and/or NSCA-CSCS certification.
College or university teaching experience.
Post-doctoral research experience.
Experience in unique and varied student needs environment.

Responsibilities

We seek a biologist whose research and teaching focus on the conservation, ecology, and management of organisms. The Associate Dean for Academic Affairs will provide administrative support and leadership in curriculum development, faculty recruitment and development, student retention and support, and ensure compliance with academic policies and accreditation standards. Responsibilities include implementing the dean's vision for academic initiatives, managing student success efforts, and overseeing a wide range of academic operations to support the institution's educational mission. The Associate Dean for Academic Affairs will promote education innovation and scholarship, teach in the professional program, and dedicate themselves to identifying resources and strategies to ensure highly successful outcomes on the NAPLEX and MPJE.
The Associate Dean for Academic Affairs must have proven leadership capabilities and demonstrate strong personnel management and communication skills to work effectively with faculty, students, staff, auxiliary faculty, and practitioners to advance excellence in pharmacy education, practice, and research and to enhance pharmaceutical health care throughout the region, state, nation, and world. Reporting directly to the Dean, the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs is expected to work collaboratively and constructively with the Executive Committee, Administrative Leadership Team, and faculty to maintain a scholarly environment that continuously enhances the quality of educational programs and is expected to be a constant advocate for the College; its faculty, staff, and students; and the pharmacy profession. This individual must be committed to the mission and goals of the College and possess the ability to support faculty in achieving excellence in teaching, scholarship, and clinical engagement. The successful candidate will bring a strong commitment to an academic career emphasizing innovative teaching and scholarly activities.
Duties and responsibilities of the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs include, but are not limited to, fostering, promoting, and overseeing a strong faculty development program; ensuring ongoing programmatic quality assurance; coordinating the college's appointment, promotion, and tenure process; and coordinating the scholarship of teaching that facilitates student engagement and student-centered active learning and promotes the use of technology as a learning tool.

* An earned professional pharmacy degree (PharmD) or doctoral degree in education, pharmacy, or a related discipline (EdD or PhD) from an accredited university.
* Demonstrated administrative leadership experience, preferably in a professional program or higher education setting.
* Demonstrated excellence in research, teaching, scholarship, and service.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Proven leadership in managing a multidisciplinary group of early- and mid-career faculty scholars.
