Does Bellator drug test?

By Justin Parker - Jun. 12, 2023

Yes, Bellator drug tests athletes. However, this process is completed through the athletic commission. The athletic commission uses a full-panel drug screen for all athletes. Here are the substances that are screened for in a full-panel drug test:

  • Cocaine
  • Cannabis
  • PCP
  • Amphetamines
  • Opiates
  • Benzodiazepines
  • Barbiturates
  • Methadone
  • Propoxyphene
  • Quaaludes
  • Ecstasy (MDMA)
  • Oxycodone/Percocet

If an athlete exhibits signs of being intoxicated or addicted to drugs while fighting, a drug test is requested.

If the results indicate drug use, Bellator may take disciplinary actions against the athlete, such as suspending them from competition or possibly banning them altogether. The severity of the punishment varies depending on each particular case.
