Yes, Frito Lay does drug test potential hires. This depends on the position you apply for and whether it is at one of their factories, distribution facilities, or a corporate office.
Corporate office candidates are not drug tested, while applicants for factory and driving positions do have to complete a five-panel urine test drug screening to gain employment. These test screen for the following substances:
Cannabis
Cocaine
Opiates - opium and codeine derivatives
Amphetamines and methamphetamines
Phencyclidine - PCP
Corporate employees may be asked to take a drug test if they are suspected of being intoxicated or addicted to drugs while working. Factory workers and drivers are also drug tested if they are suspected of being intoxicated at work or are involved in a workplace accident.
The results of this test may have disciplinary consequences, such as a probation period or termination. For drivers, this can also result in criminal prosecution if an accident occurs with a Frito Lay truck and the driver is under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
