Does PPD drug test?
Yes, PPD drug tests. As a global contract research organization that conducts clinical trials for pharmaceutical and biotech companies, PPD is required by law to comply with drug testing regulations.
Consistent with this, all new hires are expected to take a urine or mouth swab drug test as part of the onboarding process. However, they typically do not perform random drug testing once you are hired unless they have reason to suspect that an employee is intoxicated.
PPD typically uses a 10-panel urine or mouth swab drug screening test, which includes Amphetamines, including methamphetamines; barbiturates. Benzodiazepines, Cocaine, Marijuana, Methadone, Opiates, Phencyclidine, Alcohol.
PPD is also a "drug-free" workplace. This means that we are required to work without being
impaired by drug or alcohol abuse. Having or using unauthorized or illegal drugs, drug
paraphernalia, or substances, or abusing or misusing legal drugs, alcohol, or other substances
while on PPD business or during working hours is prohibited.
PPD is a tobacco-free workplace and as such it prohibits its employees from the use of regular cigarettes, as well as chewing tobacco, electronic cigarettes, smokeless tobacco, vapes, or any other variations while on company property.
