Visiting Angels sometimes uses two different types of drug tests: a urine test and a hair follicle test. You have to complete one or sometimes both during the hiring process. A hair follicle drug test screens for these substances:

- Opiates - opium and codeine derivatives
- Amphetamines and methamphetamines
- Phencyclidine - PCP
