This question is about certified nursing assistant certifications.
CNA training requires 75 hours of classroom and clinical training. Generally, out of the 75 total instruction hours, 16 of those are clinical hours, which includes hands-on training.
After completing these 75 hours of training, you must take and pass an exam before you can complete CNA training. The final exam includes both written and oral parts and a clinical examination. After passing the exam, you then must complete a competency evaluation. Once you pass that evaluation, you may begin working as a CNA.
Typically, CNA certification lasts two years. After these two years, if you have been working as a CNA, you can simply renew the license by paying a fee and submitting a form. If you have not been working, you may need to complete CNA training again.
