How many hours do mechanics work?

Mechanics work an average of 40-48 hours weekly. Most mechanics work the standard full-time hours per week, which is forty. They may work longer hours during busier times or if they have a specific deadline that they are working towards reaching.

While mechanics typically work a standard amount of work hours per week, they do not work them during standard working hours. Most mechanics work shifts that can be anywhere from 6 to 12 hours at a time.

These shifts can begin early in the morning, throughout the day, or run until close, at 9 or 10 PM, depending on the garage hours.
