How much does Starbucks pay 16-year-olds?
Starbucks pays 16-year-olds an average of $14.64 per hour. At most Starbucks locations, a 16-year-old employee will have the position of a cashier or barista. In most cases, the pay for these positions ranges from $8 to $15 per hour.
Keep in mind that this is based on the minimum wage requirements for the state in which the restaurant is located. In some states where the cost of living is higher, it is possible to have a higher starting wage.
In December 2021, Starbucks committed to increasing the average minimum wage to $17 an hour across company-owned coffee shops. Employees with two or more years of service could receive up to a 5% raise, and those with five or more years could receive up to a 10% raise.
