This program gives students substantive work experience and formal training and provides a realistic glimpse into their future as an attorney. They will have the freedom to select their work assignments similar to how they would if they joined the firm as an associate. They will also be invited to attend trials, hearings, and depositions, as well as closings and client calls.
In addition to internships, there is the 1L Diversity Scholars conference which is an elite program that provides early exposure to one of the world's leading law firms. Selected law students will be invited to join Kirkland Ellis attorney's, clients, and alumni for a 2-day conference that will help advance selected candidates' professional development by forming collegial and mentoring relationships.
