How would you describe a judicial externship on a resume?

You describe a judicial externship as you would an internship or apprenticeship. As such, judicial externships tend to follow the same format for listing them on your resume. Include bullet points of relevant achievements from your internship. You can also add the judge or clerk you worked for in your references.

One place to describe your externship experience is in the work experience section. We recommend that you list the externship and create three bullet points that describe the skills and training you received during the experience.

Like how you list other work experiences, include the name of the business and the exact dates of the externship above the bullet points.

Another way to incorporate judicial externship experience is to create a separate section devoted to this. For example, Internship / Externship as the section heading.

This section would come either after work experience or at the very end of your resume, making it the last thing they'll see when they read or scan. Separating it from other information draws more attention to it, and that's the advantage here.

A third way to mix it in with your work history, profile objective, and skills sections of your resume. Depending on how long these lasted and your overall background, you could lump it in with the rest of your work experience.

The advantage here is that it keeps it all in one section and can help fill the page more. The downside is that it makes it harder to draw as much attention to the various kinds of experience.
