This question is about what a senior vice president does and senior vice president.
An EVP, or "Executive Vice President," is typically a higher and more senior position than an SVP, or "Senior Vice President." EVPs are typically responsible for managing other vice presidents under them and in the same department. For example, an EVP of technology may handle the product vice president, IT vice president, and support vice presidents.
Senior vice presidents are more likely to deal with directors or department heads and may report to the EVP. Senior vice presidents are also recommended to complete certain certifications and training if they want to advance to an EVP position.
However, there are companies that allow the roles of EVP and SVP to be interchangeable, especially if the company is small.
