What do entry-level mechanics do?

By Kate Swindlehurst - Jun. 13, 2023

An entry-level mechanic rotates tires, checks fluid levels, and performs basic care and maintenance. Although there are certification requirements, mechanics do not need to hold college degrees to begin working. This can allow for early growth in careers, which may be an important factor in choosing a career path.

Entry-level mechanics begin their careers doing the same tasks that more senior mechanics complete. The big difference is that entry-level mechanics complete these tasks under the direction of a supervisor. The supervisor is present to help with any questions and issues that may arise while completing these tasks.
