What is the hiring process at ESPN?

Application: Prospective employees are encouraged to explore the ESPN careers webpage and get information on ESPN's business, culture, and available jobs.

You are also encouraged to read about "About ESPN" and "Citizenship" to get insight on working on ESPN and life inside and outside of the office.

Once an opportunity of interest has been identified, prospects are encouraged to apply via the ESPN career page. You will be prompted to create an online profile through Brassring if you don't already have one.

You can apply using your LinkedIn profile or use your resume to prefill your online application form.

There may be pre-screening text messages or assessments that will be sent to you or you will be contacted by a member of the internal recruitment team regarding next steps.

Interview: After you submit your application, it will be reviewed by a member of the internal recruitment team. If your skills seem to be a match for the role, you will be contacted to set up a phone interview.

During the phone interview, you will discuss the role in greater detail and get to ask any questions you have regarding the role and/or the company. They will be looking specifically for your past work experiences and why you are interested in working for ESPN. If you are still interested and the recruitment team feels that you are a good fit, you will move on to the panel interview.

The panel interview usually takes place with the team that you would be working with. This interview is for you to learn more about the team, the role and responsibilities, and the workflow.

Come prepared to speak about specific projects you have worked on in the past, how you collaborate with others, and your career goals. Ask questions about the work environment, team dynamics, and day-to-day responsibilities.

In every interview, ESPN wants to get an understanding of how you collaborate and your approach to solving problems. For most roles at ESPN, you will be asked to complete a project, walk through a case study, or provide a portfolio of your previous work.

Typical interview questions include:

• "What is one thing you like about how ESPN operates?"

• "What qualifies you for this role?"

• "What skills do you bring to the table that no one else can?"

• "What is your experience with sports?"

• "How do you develop relationships?"

Offer and Onboarding: If you are selected for the role, a member of the internal recruitment team will contact you to review the offer letter details, benefits, and more information on your new career at ESPN. If you are not selected, you will receive communication from a member of the ESPN team.

Once you have accepted an offer, you will be asked to complete forms and start the pre-onboarding process. You will also be required to submit for a background check. The internal recruitment team member will provide you with more detailed information on how to complete these steps.
