This question is about HubSpot and HubSpot jobs.
The hiring process at HubSpot is multifaceted and arduous. It includes multiple stages, including multiple phone interviews, a video interview, assessment, and on-site interview sessions. The entire hiring process takes anywhere from one to three months.
HubSpot's Application Process:
Check out HubSpot's career website to see the latest job postings and descriptions. They have a quick and easy application process that does not require you to create a profile in order to apply for a position. At the bottom of the job description, simply fill out the form and upload your resume and cover letter.
Once submitted, someone from HubSpot's recruiting team is then tasked with reviewing your application and following up within ten days about whether or not they'll be moving forward with your application.
While application timelines can vary a lot for a variety of factors, HubSpot's goal is to let you know within ten to 14 days if they'll be moving forward with your application. From there, their recruiters let you know at the phone interview stage what to expect and give you updates along the way on timing.
HubSpot Phone Interview with HR:
Quick phone from a HubSpot recruiter regarding the position and company. Anticipate some basic questions about your resume and desire to work at HubSpot.
HubSpot's Assessment Test (if technical position):
A two to three hours coding challenge. The coding challenge involves GET, parsing, and doing calculations on a JSON and a POST back. The coding challenge has no restrictions on the libraries candidates can use, and it's all done on their site. The coding question looks similar to the actual one that engineers at HubSpot work on.
HubSpot's Behavioral Phone Interview:
This phone interview lasts around 30 minutes and is usually done with the hiring manager, but sometimes with an HR recruiter. Anticipate a lot of behavioral-based questions and problem-solving.
HubSpot's Video interview:
Some positions may ask candidates to submit a video interview. This is something new that HubSpot has started using. Before you meet an interviewer, you'll have a 15-minute session with a member of the Recruiting team to make sure your Zoom video and audio are working smoothly.
Your interviewers then join the meeting and get to know you a little better, and they'll be responsible for connecting you with the next interviewer or wrapping up. We know interviews can be stressful, so it's our job to make the virtual process as easy as possible.
HubSpot's Onsite interview:
If you're applying for a technical position, the interview process is usually composed of three separate interviews: two technical interviews with members of the engineering teams and one non-technical interview with the hiring manager. Each technical interviewer has been trained to assess a particular area or skill set.
Before your interview, the team syncs up with your recruiter to make sure everyone is on the same page. After the interview, the interviewers come together as a team to discuss the final results.
HubSpot's Post-interview:
An HR recruiter from HubSpot will reach out for feedback over the phone. This happens whether or not you are hired. It's a great way to learn what to work on.
Common HubSpot interview questions include:
What's the toughest decision you've had to make (and how did you make it)?
What was one of your biggest failures, and what did you learn from it?
Why should HubSpot hire you?
Why do you want to work at HubSpot?
What do you believe are your top three character traits that make you successful? How do they fit with HubSpot?
Can you share an example where you showed ownership?
What is the most memorable challenge from your past experiences?
Explain one of the processes you learned/developed during your previous job, which you believe will prove valuable in your future position with HubSpot
A co-worker constantly arrives late to a weekly scheduled meeting. What would you do?
