Walmart is so successful because of its low prices and the high variety of items it sells. Being renowned as a cheap, one-stop shop, Walmart undercuts many small town supermarkets and department stores.

Walmart is also very successful because of its expansion. It is a global company, and in 2001 it even acquired Exxon Mobil to become the world's largest company in terms of revenue that year.
