SACC caregivers are responsible for assisting in providing a nurturing safe environment, which allows children to participate in activities designed to enhance their social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development. SACC Caregivers work a split shift: 7:30am-9:00am and 3:30pm-5:00pm.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Follow all school and licensing procedures
Responsible for the knowledge of safety issues and emergency procedures concerning school-age children 5-12 years of age
Possess knowledge of age appropriate activities and expectations of children ages 5-12
Communicates with families regularly regarding schedules, payments, and student information
Assist in ensuring all students on daily attendance sheet are accounted for as necessary and keeps accurate records of parent sign-in and sign-out times
Consults with Coordinator and building director to establish appropriate strategies for dealing with challenging behavior
Other duties as assigned by the Coordinator
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Must provide documentation from the Department of Human Services that he/she has not been named in a central registry case as the perpetrator of child abuse or child neglect before having contact with a child in care
Be at least 18 years of age
Have earned a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent
CPR & First Aid Certification Preferred
Obtains minimum of 16 training hours per year
