JOB SUMMARY:
As a Data and Analytics Intern, you will play a pivotal role on Data Modeling & Design, Data Collection & Transformation, and Data Documentation. You will work closely with our supply chain, data engineering, and analytics teams to support the development and maintenance of Pet Studio, our central depository of analytics that includes media management of analytics shown on TV. Additionally, you will focus on front-end visualization and support analytics automation initiatives. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Data Modeling & Design:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and structure data models that support business requirements.
Design and implement data models using SQL within Snowflake and BigQuery to facilitate efficient data analysis and reporting.
Data Collection & Transformation:
Assist in planning and executing data collection and transformation activities using SQL and Google Apps Script, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
Support data validation, cleansing, and transformation processes to maintain data integrity and consistency.
Data Documentation:
Document data processes, models, and transformation workflows to ensure clarity and reproducibility.
Maintain comprehensive records of data sources, transformations, and methodologies.
Front-End Visualization:
Create and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using CP tools (e.g., DOMO, Looker Studio).
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their visualization needs and deliver actionable insights.
Provide training and support to end-users on effectively using the dashboards and reports.
Support for Analytics Automation Initiatives:
Identify opportunities to automate analytics processes and reporting using JavaScript in Snowflake and Google Apps Script.
Develop and implement automation scripts and tools to streamline workflows and improve efficiency.
Monitor and maintain automated processes to ensure they operate smoothly.
Media Management of Pet Studio:
Support the development and maintenance of Pet Studio in DOMO, also focusing on media management of analytics shown on TV in HQ.
Presentation and Workshop Contribution:
Help standardize and schedule presentations and workshops around Advanced Analytics and AI.
Ensure process improvement notes are taken during trainings to allow the iteration and improvement of scheduled events.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
Must be available to work hybrid at our Overland Park, KS office location throughout the entire internship
This position requires an 8-month commitment (August 2025 - May 2026)
Must be available to work at least 15hrs/week during the academic semester
Experience with BI tools such as SAP Analytics Cloud, Tableau, or Power BI
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, SQL, or similar
Basic understanding of data migration concepts and ETL processes
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range $23.00 - $31.00 USD
Pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location. Salaried employees may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing, and long-term incentives for Executive-level roles.
