A Texas license must be obtained prior to the start date. Responsibilities Provide inpatient and outpatient care for pediatric patients under the supervision of attending physicians. Participate in the diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care of patients in the Craniofacial & Plastic Surgery and Dermatology clinics. Perform and/or assist with dermatologic and minor surgical office procedures, including injections, biopsies, and wound care. Collect, document, and analyze patient data, and collaborate with physicians on care plans and treatment protocols. Support patients and families in understanding care plans, treatment options, and post-procedure care. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and performance evaluations within the clinic. Engage in patient education and contribute to the hospital's mission of providing compassionate, family-centered pediatric care. Qualifications Education: Master's degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program (required). Licensure: Active or eligible for Texas Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license (required prior to start). National certification as an NP or PA (preferred). Experience: Experience in dermatology, plastic surgery, or pediatrics (preferred, but not required). Familiarity with EMR systems (preferred). Skills: Strong communication and collaboration abilities. Commitment to patient- and family-centered care. Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred). Schedule and Location Monday through Friday; no weekend call. Primarily in-person with occasional telemedicine visits. About the Role This provider will work closely with our orthopedic surgeons to support the diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing care of pediatric patients. Responsibilities include obtaining and documenting patient histories, performing assessments, and participating in the development and implementation of care plans. The APP will assist with or perform orthopedic castings and limited procedures within the scope of approved privileges. Travel to our satellite clinics is part of the role. This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with limited weekend call. Qualifications Active and unrestricted Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner license in Texas. Orthopedic experience preferred. Bilingual skills preferred. Certified Surgical First Assist preferred. Current BLS and PALS required.
