Self-Direction DSP - Central Square Area (Job #ES-JC)
ARISE/Exceptional Family Resources is seeking a Community Habilitation Direct Support Professional (DSP) to work with a young man with Cerebral Palsy, developmental disorder and seizures. He is very friendly and does have some behaviors at times. He enjoys being social, swimming in his home pool, listening to music, dancing, going for walks and spending time with his family. He is interested in developing more skills to increase his independence, learning to make healthy lifestyle choices and spending more time doing what interests him.
Responsibility in this role will be you will be accompanying him at his family home, going on walks, helping him practice independent living skills and participate with him in his hobbies of choice. You would also need to be able to assist him with daily personal care and changing. He requires assistance with transferring, as he is unsteady on his feet. Someone that can physical assist is preferred. He is seeking an upbeat, motivating individual that wants to help him work on his goals.
Prior experience is preferred.
Hours and Days of work:
The schedule would be Saturday 12- 5/6pm and Sunday 1230 - 5/6pm
Payrate:
$24.00 per hour.
Background check, fingerprinting and DMV record check will be conducted prior to hire by the non-profit agency.
