Advocates for the patient to receive academic supports by writing formal letters requesting IEP or 504 evaluation and provides appropriate recommended accommodations. Participates in IEP/504 meetings, transition meetings, or provides psychoeducational training to school personnel regarding mental health diagnoses via video conferencing. When relevant, coordinates transition from the hospital back to the patient's boundary school; this may include assignment of grades and credit. Maintaining, updating, and continually developing and advancing the University Academy educational curriculum. Conduct academic assessments/testing when clinically appropriate. May issue academic transcripts. Participates in the ordering of educational supplies. In the absence of the Education Specialist Administrator, a Licensed Teacher may be asked to step in and help supervise/mentor any unlicensed staff.
