Job Description
Oversee daily activities of construction engineering inspectors across multiple roadway and bridge projects
Manage project schedules, assignments, and staff workloads to ensure quality and timely completion
Review and approve inspection reports, testing data, and field documentation
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and project engineers
Ensure compliance with NCDOT standards, project specifications, and safety requirements
Provide mentorship, training, and performance evaluations for inspectors and junior staff
Conduct field visits to monitor quality, resolve issues, and support staff as needed
Coordinate material sampling, testing requirements, and traffic control oversight
Maintain accurate records and prepare reports for project managers and stakeholders
Qualifications
Associates or Bachelors degree in engineering, construction management, or related field (or equivalent training/experience)
Minimum of 5 years of construction engineering inspection experience, with at least 12 years in a supervisory or management role
Strong knowledge of NCDOT specifications, roadway construction, and inspection processes
Proficiency in record keeping, plan reading, and construction surveying
Experience with Microsoft Office and drafting software

Your role will involve workforce planning, recruitment, and retention strategies to build organizational capability aligned with business objectives.
You will provide technical oversight and guidance to ensure engineering deliverables meet quality standards and project requirements while fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
In the matrix organization structure, you will collaborate closely with project managers and other functional leaders to allocate resources effectively, balance workload across the Engineering Department, and resolve competing priorities.

Qualifications

Proven experience delivering data centers, semiconductor facilities, energy systems, or major infrastructure megaprojects.
Deep technical expertise in electrical systems, fiber networks, critical power, and high‑reliability technical environments.
Strong background in commissioning, QA/QC, technical risk management, and engineering governance.
Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary technical teams across complex, fast‑paced programs.
Preferred
Experience with EPC/EPCM delivery models.
Familiarity with hyperscale data center requirements, cleanroom environments, or high‑density industrial systems.
Professional certifications such as CxA, PMP, or LEED AP.
