Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Platform Engineering/SRE Manager to lead a small, high-impact team responsible for maintaining and improving the reliability, performance, and scalability of our production systems. This role blends technical leadership and operational excellence, managing a group of Site Reliability and Platform Engineers who ensure our applications and infrastructure run smoothly in production.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with engineering leads to enhance developer platform capabilities like automating workflows, managing CI/CD pipelines, and simplifying environment provisioning.
What You'll Bring
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
7+ years in infrastructure, SRE, or platform engineering roles, including 3+ years in leadership or team management.
Strong background in cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and hands-on experience with IaC tools such as Terraform.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration, and deployment frameworks (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Kubernetes, Docker).
Experience improving system observability, developing dashboards, and managing alerting systems using Grafana or similar platforms.
Competence in Python, Go, or C# for automation and troubleshooting.
Solid understanding of relational databases (SQL) and the ability to guide teams in identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks.
Demonstrated ability to lead incident management, communicate effectively across teams, and create a culture of continuous improvement.
Preferred Experience
Experience with developer enablement or internal platform engineering initiatives (e.g., self-service infrastructure or environment provisioning).

Leadership & Team Management:
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of electrical engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.

Product Development:
Lead the design and development of electronic circuits and systems for Mophie products, from concept to mass production.

Technical Expertise:
Provide technical guidance and support for complex electrical engineering problems.
Review and approve technical documentation, including schematics, PCB layouts, and testing protocols.
Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation within the product line.
Project Management:
Provide technical support to multiple engineering projects simultaneously, enabling on-time and within-budget delivery.
Coordinate Product Development Managers and wider engineering team to define product requirements, select critical components and resolve technical issues.
Prepare and present project updates and reports to senior management.
Quality & Compliance:
Work with Quality Engineering and Regulatory Compliance team to ensure all products comply with industry standards, including CE, FCC, and other relevant certifications.
Work with Quality Director to implement and monitor quality control procedures throughout the development process and product lifecycle
This role is based in the Salt Lake City office and is primarily an in-office role, with flexibility to support the ad-hoc nature of global teamwork. Periodic travel to Asia will be required, typically no more than 4 times per year.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 7 years of experience in electrical engineering, with at least 3 years in a managerial role or equivalent leadership experience
Proven experience in designing and developing consumer electronics with a strong emphasis on designing to cost and quality targets, particularly in power management systems
Strong understanding of PCB design, embedded systems, and analog/digital circuit design
Experience working with overseas contract development partners and manufacturers
Skills:
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Strong problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
Proficient in using CAD software for circuit design (e.g., Altium Designer, OrCAD).
Knowledge of product certification processes (CE, FCC, etc.).
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, including with non-native English speakers
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with power electronics, battery management systems, or wireless charging technologies.
Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
Project management certification (e.g., PMP) is a plus.

Essential Job Functions
* Performs high quality inspections, servicing and maintenance of aircraft engines, systems and components on a variety of aircraft engines using proper tools in a timely, clean, safe and professional manner in accordance with Duncan Aviation approved procedures, appropriate maintenance manuals and technical data. Efficiently and effectively troubleshoots, function tests and repairs the most complicated aircraft engine systems across a variety of aircraft engines. Orders required parts as needed. Performs Quality Inspector (QI) and RII duties.
* Oversees and prepares various documents for record keeping purposes as required by Company policy and FAA regulations (i.e. turnovers, engine process sheets, personal training log, etc.). Demonstrates proficiency of Duncan Aviation work order system by completing accurate and timely discrepancies and corrective action statements, Service Bulletins and Airworthiness Directives (AD), compliance statements, final inspection and closing of squawks and work orders.
* Manages all aspects of assigned aircraft engine projects to ensure safety, quality and efficiency throughout the projects. Accepts full ownership of assigned projects from pre-planning to delivery of the engine through planning, prioritizing, and communicating with customers, team members, OEM's, outside contractors and vendors as necessary. Ensures the safety and security of customer's equipment during all maintenance phases.
* Supervises day-to-day activities of team members as assigned by team leader. Holds team members accountable to Duncan Aviation approved policies and procedures including professionalism, safety and shop cleanliness. Ensures team's consistent use of appropriate technical data.
* Willingly and effectively shares knowledge and capabilities with less experienced technicians through OJT to foster their development, ensure accurate work, and support of the team's goals.
* Performs other duties as assigned by management.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN EIT, ENGINEER I, OR ENGINEER II
As the Civil Engineer within our engineering division, you will work with a range of differing projects.
