Overview
The Engineering and Maintenance Manager is a hands-on leader responsible for the performance of the engineering, maintenance, and facilities functions. This role not only develops engineering strategic project scopes and actionable plans to support current and future CAPEX investments, but also implements best practices, procedures, and controls in project, maintenance, and facility management such as Installation, Operation qualification, risk management, FAT, preventive maintenance plans, spare parts inventories, CMMS, and work order systems for all plant assets.
This role works very closely with functional leaders and plant employees in Production, Quality, Logistics, Supply Chain, HR, and other support functions during the planning, design, construction, modification, and maintenance of equipment, machinery, and facilities in operations.
Additionally, the position establishes and manages the department's budget to ensure the financial targets are met or exceeded. It manages all CAPEX and expense projects (i.e- Safety, Quality, Cost Improvements) to meet scope, budget and timelines as defined and agreed with stakeholders.
The leader in this role uses develops and utilizes Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for driving improvements in CAPEX Management and equipment reliability.
Qualifications
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
• BS in Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering or a related field of study.
• 7+ years' experience in manufacturing and/or construction environment.
• 7+ years' experience in an aseptic and/or powder manufacturing environment preferred.
• 7+ years' experience with mechanical and electrical systems in a multitude of applications.
• 5+ years' supervisory or team lead experience in maintenance.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

* Perform daily/weekly/monthly preventative maintenance as per maintenance schedule. Properly stock and inventory the vessel's spare parts. Properly process and pump sewage and oily water tanks when needed. Assist shore technicians as needed. Maintain daily logs. Make emergency repairs when needed.
* Maintain a safe and clean engine room. Train new engineers as required. Ensure that performance and behavior of engineers meets legal and professional requirements.
* Conduct drills with Marine and Non-marine crew as directed by the Master or with engineering crew.
* The majority of work is performed in a Marine environment in both indoor and outdoor conditions with exposure to various temperatures and weather conditions, along with moderate to loud noise levels.
* The Marine operation is subject to varying levels of motion, movement, and vibration.
* The Third Assistant Engineer both lives and works onboard a vessel, on a rotational basis, generally for 56 Days on - 56 Days off (+).

Requirements & Qualifications:

Experience with assessment, remediation, and compliance with the Massachusetts Contingency Plan (MCP), Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) as well as other relevant regulatory programs for the region.
Successful track record in managing multi-faceted environmental projects with multiple services and accelerated schedules.
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook required; working knowledge of Office 365 applications preferred.

Additional Information
The salary range for this position is between $70,000 - $100,000.
