Impossible Foods CEO and leadership

Patrick O'Reilly Brown (born 1954) is an American scientist who is the chief executive and founder of Impossible Foods Inc. and professor emeritus in the department of biochemistry at Stanford University. Brown is co-founder of the Public Library of Science, inventor of the DNA microarray, and a former investigator at Howard Hughes Medical Institute.

David Borecky joined Impossible Foods in 2019 as Chief Accounting Officer and is currently serving as Interim Chief Financial Officer. As CFO, he leads the accounting, strategic finance, financial planning and analysis, treasury, investor relations, internal audit, tax, and information technology functions. David helps drive strategic planning and decision making while continually assessing risks and opportunities for the organization.

From 2016 to 2019, Davis was the Controller for Stripe, where he scaled and managed various accounting, finance, and treasury functions. Prior to that, David held multiple senior management positions at mobile payments provider Square, where he built out the company’s global finance and accounting operations and worked alongside executives to successfully lead Square's IPO registration process. He was also responsible for sourcing, executing, and integrating strategic acquisitions. Prior to Square, David held leadership roles in treasury and finance at OpenText Corp., a global leader in enterprise information management and Canada's largest publicly traded software company.

David holds an honors degree in business from Wilfrid Laurier University and a Masters degree from the Schulich School of Business at York University. He is a Canadian Chartered Accountant and a U.S. Certified Public Accountant.

Dana R. Wagner is the Chief Legal Officer at Impossible Foods. He oversees the company’s legal, regulatory, and governmental affairs.

From 2011 through 2016, Dana served as the General Counsel of Square Inc., where he built and led the legal, government relations, compliance, and security teams. While at Square, he played a central role in the company’s design and launch of innovative financial products, its expansion into international markets, and its initial public offering. Before that, he led antitrust, competition, and consumer protection matters at Google from 2007 to 2011, and he held various positions in the U.S. Department of Justice from 2000 through 2007.

Dana has taught and lectured at Harvard Law School, Stanford Law School, Berkeley Law, Northwestern University, U.C. Hastings College of the Law, and many other institutions on the topics of law, business, and technology. He received his undergraduate degrees in Economics and Comparative Literature from the University of California-Berkeley and his J.D. from Yale Law School.

David Lipman is a Chief Science Officer at Impossible Foods. He has worked as Director at HHS NIH NLM National Center for Biotechnology Information. David attended Brown University in Providence in the State of Rhode Island & Providence Plantat and University at Buffalo.

As Chief Science Officer, York serves on Impossible Foods’ senior leadership team and oversee research and development, and product innovation. He reports directly to Impossible Foods CEO and Founder Dr. Patrick O. Brown, M.D., Ph.D.

York, a former Investigator for the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, led the Department of Biochemistry at Vanderbilt University since 2012. His team paved the way for discoveries in protein structure and function, cell signaling and molecular genetics. York’s laboratory studies cellular signaling networks; it defined an evolutionarily conserved intracellular code required for the proper adaptation of cells and development of organisms. York’s team helped discover how cells enhance signaling specificity through generation of diverse chemical messengers.

The Midwest native, who will relocate from Tennessee to California, received his undergraduate degree from the University of Iowa and his Ph.D. in Molecular Cell Biology and Biochemistry from Washington University in Saint Louis.
