Position Summary: Provide developmental activities and supervision for children, ranging from infants to preschool age, at our licensed daycare located within the women's residential substance use disorder treatment facility. This role ensures all services are delivered ethically, legally, and morally, in a safe and nurturing environment, while adhering to applicable regulatory and accreditation standards.
Job Requirements/Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or Equivalency.
Minimum of one year experience working in licensed daycare setting (preferred)
Excellent written and verbal communications.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Attend/Obtain/Maintain CPI training/certification.
Obtain/maintain Adult/Child CPR training/certification within 90 days of hire.
Obtain/Maintain Mandatory Reporter training/certification within 90 days of hire.
Essential Responsibilities:
Implement activities to meet the physical, emotional, intellectual, and social needs of children including songs, games, storytelling, and crafts.
Ensure equipment and the facility is clean, well maintained and safe.
Be familiar with and follow emergency procedures, administer first aid as necessary.
Provide a safe, nurturing, comfortable environment, and ensure children are always supervised.
Follow daily schedule including providing opportunities for sleep and rest, nutritious snacks, and lunches.
Communicate clearly and effectively in a manner children understand.
Inform parents of program expectations, activities, and child(rens) progress.
Maintain current, accurate and confidential files.
Understand and comply with all the principles established by the Rosecrance Corporate Compliance Program and Code of Conduct.
Deliver exceptional customer service consistently to every customer.
Serve as a role model for other staff, clients and customers and demonstrate positive guest relations in representing Rosecrance.
Attend program meetings, participate in professional development conferences and workshops as required by licensure.
Assume other related responsibilities as assigned by management.

Working Environment/Conditions
DSPs work with individuals who may sometimes have challenging behaviors, including being unpredictable or showing verbal or physical aggression, as well as self-injury. At times, the role can be both mentally and physically demanding, with things like loud environments, occasional stress, and physical activity that might include lifting or being on your feet a lot. DSPs support people in a variety of fast-paced settings: at home, at work, and out in the community. The essential duties of this position require the following physical demands and challenges:
Frequent kneeling, squatting, twisting, crouching, crawling, and bending
Standing/ Walking (for extended periods of time)
Lifting and/or carrying up to 50 pounds (may exceed 50 pounds during medical and safety emergency situation) with or without varying amounts of assistance on a reoccurring basis.

Work Challenges
Challenges include learning about the people in order to know how to teach and motivate them, recognizing changes in behavior that may indicate additional services are needed, redirecting and implementing Behavior Support plans, and ensuring other plans are implemented correctly while dealing with maladaptive behaviors. Motivating and educating people to perform up to standards of work, home, and community expectations and instilling pride, confidence, and self-respect in the people served is also challenging
Problems include recognizing manipulative and maladaptive behavior, assisting resistive people, determining appropriate level of intervention or de-escalation techniques, and dealing with equipment malfunctions and adaptations.
Decision Making
Staff must be confident and decide how to present themselves and how to respond to situations at every moment. Decisions include how to de-escalate a situation and if physical restraint is needed; when a behavior and physical condition should be documented or reported to medical staff; priority of daily work activities that are not related to someone's personal treatment; assisting people served to requisition their funds; making good judgments, how to treat others, when to intervene in disputes between people served; when to refer a person's needs to higher authority; recommendation of changes in treatment and if the team needs to meet to address a person's issues.
Decisions referred include final plans, medical needs, procedures for implementing treatment plans, and formal counseling.

Must be at least 18 years of age
Basic fluency in oral and written English.
Has computer experience and is comfortable with navigation with technology.
Pass qualifying criminal background checks which includes motor vehicle driving records.

Duties and Responsibilities:
A belief that individuals with a disability can fully participate in societal roles, alongside community members without disabilities. Maximizing opportunities for the development of individual relationships with community members.
Provide support and training to individuals as identified in the service plan and assure individual's physical and mental needs are being cared for, which may include hygiene, bathing/showering, toileting, escort, transition time, and mealtime assistance.
Teach self-control and self-management skills in accordance with departmental training.
Complete documentation requirements (client logs, charts) as determined by the Service Plan and regulations at the end of the shift or within 24 hours with supervisor approval.
Support individuals in developing and carrying out a daily schedule of activities tailored to meet the needs of the person being supported.
Assist individuals in arranging necessary appointments and transportation as needed and assure the appropriate documentation has been completed
Promote personal safety and safety measures among team and clients being supported. Follow all safety procedures.
Be a TEAM PLAYER by promoting positive communication and working relationships with all team members and the community.
Qualifications:
High school graduate or ability to obtain GED/HSED (High School Equivalency Diploma) preferred, however required for RBSCL, HBH, & My Day HAB services, BA degree in Human Services field preferred.
Good written and verbal communication skills and have basic computer skills.
Ability to exercise sound judgment in making decisions.
Ability to complete/pass required medication administration course.
Valid Class C driver's license required, unless driving a vehicle with a capacity of 8 or more, then a Class "D" license will be required and be an insurable driver with our insurance company.
Must pass a health assessment at time of hire and ability to maintain up to date health assessment as requested per regulations.
Clearance from all applicable background checks as required by service standards.
Reliable transportation.
Provide proof of state minimum liability insurance coverage.
Physical Requirements:
Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Physical strength and flexibility to assist the individuals with outdoor and indoor maintenance
Physical mobility to walk, stoop, stand, sit, and climb steps.
Physical strength to assist individuals in transferring as per Hope Haven policy.
Physical ability to maintain balance while moving, while being pushed or pulled, and to lower self to a "half-squat" position while keeping back straight.

Job Coach DSP, you will support and assist individuals with developmental disabilities in a variety of job settings to ensure they have meaningful employment. As a Job Coach you will assist individuals on the job and communicate with employers in a professional manner.
Key Responsibilities for all DSP positions:
Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as hygiene, dressing, mobility, and meal preparation, based on the individual's level of need.
Support the individual in developing and maintaining skills, which could include money management, household chores, self-advocacy, and communication. Based on individual's needs, goals, and support plan.
Implement goals and objectives from the individual's person-centered support plan and document progress as required.
Monitor and promote the individual's health and well-being while following safety protocols. Ensure individuals are treated with dignity and respect at all times.
Encourage social interaction and community inclusion through meaningful activities and relationship building.
This position requires you to transport individuals in a motor vehicle.
Shifts Needed:
Days or Evenings with every other weekend required.
Shift Hours:
Days 7a-3p or 8a-4p
Evenings 3p-11p
Flexible scheduling is available as some shift hours may vary depending upon the individual's needs.
