Provides daily observation and triage of pets in the care of PRC, recording changes as appropriate and reporting changes or concerns to a veterinary technician or veterinarian in a timely manner with accurate & complete observations noted in the shelter software system.
Performs euthanasia in accordance with the laws of the state of Florida. Responsible for accurate records, drawing and administration of drugs, and all other aspects from selection of the animal through death verification.
Maintains inventories of food, cleaning materials and equipment. Provides food and water to animals. Cleans animal kennels, cages, and shelter areas to provide a sanitary and disease-free environment.
May assist veterinary staff with care and medical treatment of sick, injured, feral and abused animals.

Minimum Qualifications Required
Graduation from high school or possession of GED Certificate; AND

An equivalent combination of education, training and experience that would reasonably be expected to provide the job-related competencies noted above; AND
Possess a valid Florida Driver License (Class E); AND
Selected candidates must obtain Florida Animal Control Association (FACA) Euthanasia Certification within the first six months of employment.
NOTE: Preventative rabies shots are available and encouraged.

A Day in the Life of a Dog Sitter
Dog Sitters visit dogs in client's homes for drop in visits (30, 45, or 60 minutes, once or twice daily or for 10 hour overnight stays) OR dog walks (30, 60, or 90 minute private walks or 60 minute group walks). Follows all formal and informal behavioral management or skill acquisition programs and where required documents necessary records. Ensures all staff working in the home are also following programs and recording data. Ensures all staff are properly trained with all programs.
Protect each resident's rights and freedoms, and maintains the confidentiality of personal information. Reports violations to Supervisors.
Participates in in-service training programs as provided. Conducts training for staff assigned to the home or requests training from supervisor or nursing.
Maintains records as directed, also, coordinates/contacts RSS for back-up in cases of vacation, holidays or sickness.
In conjunction with the Residential Services Supervisor, prepares and maintains staff schedules to ensure appropriate staffing ratios. Ensures staffing is adequate as scheduled; will be available to complete a shift if relief staff is unavailable.
With the Residential Services Supervisor, reviews applications, observes potential employees on "observations" on homes, participates in interviewing process and assists with hiring process. Additionally, with the Residential Services Supervisor's assistance, completes performance evaluations; provides feedback, counseling and disciplinary action as needed; contacts Human Resources department for assistance as necessary.
Provides for the physical care and supervision of residents appropriate to their functioning level.
As the Medication Assistance Provider, the DSP Manager must ensure that all medications, including PRN medications, have written directions provided by the health care practitioner. The DSP Manager must ensure that a copy of the prescription or order is attached to each client's MAR, is legible, and displays the following information:
Name of the medication
Prescription number, if applicable
Prescribed dosage
Specific directions for use, including the medical basis for the medication, time intervals for administration, maximum number of doses, maximum number of days medication should be administered, and conditions under which the health care practitioner should be notified. All Scripts should be current and discontinued medications destroyed following all APD/ACHA protocols.
Takes residents shopping and to medical appointments as needed. Ensures med/dental forms are completed and all follow up care is given. Notifies Supervisors and Nursing of any new developments.
Assists clients in handling money and making and keeping appointments when indicated. Responsible for accounting for Resident Personal Needs Allowance (PNA) and maintaining receipts to be furnished to Fiscal Department.
Performs other essential duties as requested or required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervises Direct Support Professionals assigned to home, both permanent and relief staff; provides feedback and counseling; participates in all performance evaluations and disciplinary actions of staff under their direct supervision.
Provides and documents training of staff; ensures that staff attend mandated trainings in order to ensure compliance with all regulatory agency requirements.

This is a flexible, self-employed role (not an employee W2 position) that's perfect for part-timers, workers with unconventional schedules, or anyone looking for a fulfilling side hustle.
๐ Choose Your Shifts:
Dog Sitting/Walking: 30, 45, or 60 minute visits/walks; 1x, 2x, or 3x daily
Morning (6 am - 12 pm)
Afternoon (12 pm - 5 pm)
Evening (5 pm - 10 pm)
Anytime (6 am - 10 pm)
Overnight Visits (10-hour stays in the client's home)
Morning or afternoon pack walk (up to 6 dogs)
We'll match you with clients based on your availability. While we need reliability, the schedule is flexible within the timeframes chosen by your clients.
