The FOF works closely with both the Shop, Field Ops, and Project Management teams to facilitate the highest levels of communication possible. The primary role of the FOF is to be involved with preconstruction and installations as well as commission systems as needed, to the point of zero defects and ready to deliver to the customer. During these tasks, the FOF will maintain an elevated level of communication with the Field Operations Manager and the Project Manager being a liaison between these teams. Office and field time is scheduled in coordination between both the Field Operations and Project Managers responsible for scheduling.
The ideal candidate is someone who understands and enjoys the unique challenges of construction sites and has a keen eye for site readiness and all phases of the AV SOW. Understanding and communicating when a site is ready for the AV SOW is a critical component of this position. Maintaining detailed notes and both oral and written communication to Project Management and the Field Operations teams with the overriding goal of effective utilization of Field Ops resources is the primary function of this position.
Summary of Accountabilities:
· Work with Safety Team to achieve 100% safety and compliance for Field Operations.
· Mentor and coach Lead and Field Technicians that may be lacking experience in specific areas.
· Read and interpret installation drawings and documentation (Signal flows, facilities diagrams, etc.)
· Review engineering drawings prior to release for construction (AV9000 ER checklist).
· Sit in and participate in kickoff/handoff meetings between engineering and operations.
· Conduct Site readiness surveys of existing structure and work with other project members or clients. Fully capable of documenting dimensions, ceiling type, wall, and structural information as well as electrical infrastructure.
· Demonstrated ability to interpret and articulate the needs analysis and SOW for the project.
· The ability to assist with a WBS and Gantt charts for scheduling project timelines when requested.
· Assist in maintaining and updating drawings based on field conditions and construction needs.
· Meet with fabrication technicians during and after fabrication as needed.
· Meet with Lead install technicians both in kick-off meetings and onsite to assist in organizing the work required to complete the project on time and within budget.
· Adjust and recommendations to technical resources on systems in staging and in the field in support of Shop staff, FE's, and remote Programmers.
· Load control system files and test buttons as needed. Assist with control system updates and code by others as needed.
· Assist Lead install technicians in recognition of field install efficiencies and changes to the installation plan as needed to deliver 100% complete system with zero defects.
· Bring design flaws or hardware interoperability issues back to the Field Operations Manager, Project Manager and Build Engineer to be reviewed and revised as necessary.
· Work with the PM to order additional components required due to design oversight or unforeseen hardware operation.
· Work with FE's to verify all systems are communicating and functioning as expected on-site, after field installation team has installed the system.
· Assist FE's as needed in commissioning gain structure for all DSP's using provided test equipment (calibrated talk box, SPL meters, etc.) and bring system up to meet performance specifications.
· Assist FE's with final button press and validation of system operations and interfaces.
· Perform commissioning checklist (AV9000) prior to systems being released to client when required.
· Participate in “postmortem” reviews with the project team to discuss successes and failures.
· Participate in handoffs to the Service department.
· Accurately track time to each project using provided web and mobile apps.
· Participate in departmental group meetings.
· Participate in vendor demonstrations and educational sessions when possible.
· Travel to both local and remote sites (within US) is required.
· Provide feedback to executive team and department managers on where improvements can be made to improve quality, reduce bottlenecks, and improve efficiency within the process.

Supervise day-to-day manufacturing execution and ensure safe, consistent production performance.
Provide direction and support to technicians and operators across assigned equipment areas.
Monitor production throughput, downtime drivers, and operational challenges, escalating issues appropriately.
Lead shift handoffs and ensure production status, risks, and priorities are clearly communicated.
Equipment Operations & Troubleshooting
Support operation of industrial process equipment including high temperature furnaces, gas/liquid delivery systems, compaction or heat treatment equipment, and supporting infrastructure.
Perform hands-on troubleshooting and assist maintenance/engineering teams in resolving root causes of failures.
Support routine preventive maintenance activities and equipment upkeep.
Safety, Quality & Operational Discipline
Foster a positive nuclear safety work culture.
Encourage a questioning attitude and the mindset of “own your own safety”.
Ensure work is performed in alignment with approved procedures and quality requirements.
Assist with documentation, work instructions, training, and readiness reviews.
Maintain clean and organized production areas.
Cross-Functional Support
Partner with engineering, maintenance, supply chain, and quality teams to support stable operations.
Assist with onboarding and training new site technicians as the workforce scales.
Provide regular operational updates to the Manufacturing Manager - Idaho and help drive accountability across the team.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in nuclear workspaces, manufacturing, production operations, equipment commissioning, and/or facility launch environments.
Strong hands-on mechanical and/or instrumentation background (I&C experience is a major plus).
Comfortable troubleshooting systems involving sensors, controls, instrumentation, pneumatic systems, and industrial equipment.
Ability to lead teams on the production floor and hold high standards for safety and performance.
Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate across multiple groups.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities shift during startup/ramp phases.
Technical degree, trade background, military experience, or equivalent hands-on experience preferred.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Immediate opening for full-time construction crew foreman position for our expanding operation. Drives daily productivity for installing, repairing and maintaining fiber optic network. Travels with the crew for daily assignments throughout our service footprint. Cultivates respectful and safety driven crew culture. Leads by example. Ensures crew follows and enforces all company policies and procedures while representing management. Follows the direction of the construction supervisor, construction manager and project manager. Performs general laborer tasks alongside the crew such as hand digging, setting up traffic control signs, sweeping, etc. with pulling and pushing movements. Maintains and operates equipment to effectively and safely complete work. Identifies, communicates and troubleshoots problems that arise on job sites. Accurately completes daily paperwork to document materials, equipment used, hours worked, and progress made on jobs. The ideal candidate will have drilling rig experience, a CDL, a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety. In addition to manual labor tasks, the candidate should also be willing to travel as assigned, possess skills in heavy equipment operations, and safely tow equipment and trailers. Complete all other assigned tasks in a professional manner.
SALARY: $22-$25 per hour
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or equivalent, must be 18 years or older.
Minimum 2-years leading crew in utility construction preferred.
Drilling rig experience required.
Valid drivers license, CDL preferred, and maintain a good driving record.
Mechanical aptitudes
Savvy with computer & device technology, competency in Window-based environment.
Lift up to 50+ lbs routinely.
Follow prints, maps and construction plans.
Maintain good driving record and company vehicle insurance eligibility.
Previous experience in telecom construction or related field preferred.
Ability to operate heavy equipment and safely tow equipment and trailers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* Supervises employees. Performs annual performance reviews, oversees the development and administration of employee development plans and recommends compensation increases. Administers discipline; authority to hire employees. • Manages expenses including shop assets such as shop supplies, small tools, and environmental needs • Meets typical annual target of 22% PAD (may vary year over year) for annual profitability of the team and the store. • Communicates machine repair status, verbally and in writing (if necessary), to the Service Advisor. • Uses the Service scheduling tool to monitor and maintain all aspects of the repair in the shop specific to the assigned team members and area. • Monitors work in progress to ensure promise date adherence for the customer. Informs Service Advisor of changes or updates needed to the promise date. Adheres to 100% promise date delivery of repair. • Works with Service Advisor to meet the final repair performance versus quoted amounts expectations of on or under quote. • Coordinates the usage, rental or purchase of special tooling needed to perform repair work • Works with the Technicians to provide the Service Advisor the necessary information for up-sell opportunities to quote to the customer. • Assigns work as needed to meet customer commitments and the needs of the repair. • Approves employees' work time and adjusts employee time on service calls as needed. • Oversees pre and post inspections of machines being repaired and quality control measures taken throughout the repair process. • Works directly with technicians to ensure quality control measures have been effectively deployed. • Achieves the goal of "No re-work will ever touch our customers". • Bills out 50% of time to revenue generating jobs. • Troubleshoots various machines at expert level with no assistance required. Walks around machinery to inspect. Operates machinery to locate problem. Diagnoses problems for quality control. Performs independent failure analysis, proving consistent abilities to determine and repair cause of failure. • Uses service manuals, SIS and parts books effectively to address technical issues such as looking up parts, machine information, standard labor rates, machine settings, and more to setup work orders or to answer customer inquiries. Complies with all company and applicable external (OSHA, ANSI, etc.) safety policies, procedures and standards. • Works with centralized functions concerning warranty, goodwill, policy, technical communications and any other relevant items associated with timely completion of the repair. • Works with Service Advisor to meet the break-even goal for all goodwill and warranty decisions and the variance of those policy and warranty accounts at the end of the year. • Adheres to all customer care standards. • Actively cares and advocates safety at Western States.
