Job Title: Mail Presorter- Shift 1B Pay Rate: $17.00 per hour Schedule: Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM Position Type: Long-Term Contract Job Description: The Mail Presorter is responsible for sorting and organizing mail pieces as they come off an automated mail-sorting machine. The machine scans and prints a barcode on each piece that includes a small two-digit presort code. Your job is to quickly sort each piece of mail into the correct bin according to that code. This position is very fast-paced and physically demanding. You'll be standing for long periods, grabbing mail directly from the conveyor, and lifting full bins that can weigh up to 40 pounds onto another conveyor for dispatch. You'll also help ensure quality by watching for printing errors, damaged barcodes, or jammed mail, and keeping your work area clean and organized. Accuracy, speed, and attention to detail are key in this role. Job Responsibilities: * Sort mail pieces according to printed presort codes from automated equipment. * * Place mail into assigned bins and monitor bin counts using the on-screen tracking system. * * Lift and move full bins (up to 40 lbs) onto the secondary conveyor for dispatch. * * Identify and report misprints, barcode errors, or machine jams to leads or supervisors. * * Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow all safety procedures. * * Work efficiently in a fast-paced, repetitive production environment. * * Follow instructions from team leads and maintain consistent work quality and pace.
