Job Responsibilities * Organize and supervise the work of the grounds staff daily, which includes laying out grave sites and preparing them for burials, setting memorials and markers, performing lawn maintenance such as mowing, trimming, planting, and snow removal, collecting trash or other debris from the grounds * Recruit and manage performance, and when necessary, discharge grounds staff * Can fill any role required in the grounds keeping / facilities maintenance function * Verifies that the locations of all interments, entombments, or inurnments are accurate. * Assures that sites are prepared for services as expected by client families. * Assures that all physical components of the memorialization process comply with the client's family wishes. * Trains and supervises grounds crew. * Maintains existing memorials and crypts. * Assures that the grounds crews' uniforms, personal appearance, actions, and demeanor present an appropriate image to client families. * In consultation with the Location Manager, Office Manager, and other staff, schedules and delegates work assignments to meet client family wishes. * Maintains a safe working environment by training the staff in observing safety rules and ensuring compliance with the operating procedures of corporate, federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA regulations and Safety and Environmental guidelines. * Maintains proper inventories of equipment, supplies, and merchandise. * Purchases safety equipment and supplies as required. * Assures that all equipment is cleaned and properly maintained. Develop and communicate work scope for planned corrective and preventative maintenance tasks that involve multi-crafts. Work with craft supervisors to identify contract support as needed to complete planned corrective and preventative maintenance tasks Responsible for job plan/Tasks accuracy new and modified in CMMS database (planned vs. actual for labor and materials) Identify vendor resources and delivery capabilities for parts and materials for planned corrective and preventative maintenance tasks. Ensure that PM's are issued, tracked and completed per compliance requirements Develop, maintain and publish reports for planning and scheduling activities Performs resource leveling for maintenance activities Develop and maintain business processes related to job function. Adheres to all applicable procedures, cGMPs, company policies and any other quality or regulatory requirements. The Groundskeeper I perform work involving the use of equipment, including tractors, trenchers and other maintenance equipment under the supervision of the Golf Course Superintendent or Assistant Golf Superintendent. Performs a diverse range of activities involved in golf course maintenance and construction. Performs semi-skilled grounds construction and maintenance work and related tasks as required. Education & Experience High school graduate. Rotating shifts on weekends, holidays, etc. (Flexible hours). Previous experience working with turf equipment (like Triplex and Fairway mowers, ect). Previous progressive experience on turf grass maintenance. Should have a mechanical aptitude. Valid driver's license. Physical requirements: Able to regularly carry/lift objects of approximately 50 pounds and occasionally of up to 100 pounds. Ability to move heavy objects. May be required to work in adverse weather conditions (sun, rain and such). Able to stand during the entire shift. Regularly stands, walks, sits, and uses hands, reaches with hands and arms. Occasionally climbs or balances; stoops, kneels, crawls or crouches. Regularly works in wet or humid conditions (non-weather) and works near moving mechanical parts.
