1974

Mechelle Vinson began working for Meritor Savings Bank in 1974 as a teller-trainee.

1976

In “The Notion of a Living Constitution” (1976), Rehnquist articulated the role of the court in a democratic society, concluding that judicial restraint and deference to lawmaking majorities are essential elements of a responsible judicial system.

1992

Casey (1992) permitted greater legal restrictions on abortion but also reaffirmed the right found in Roe.

2007

On November 1, 2007, Dukes County Savings Bank and The Martha’s Vineyard Co-operative Bank combined to become Martha’s Vineyard Savings Bank, a mutual savings bank headquartered in Edgartown, Massachusetts.

2009

Late in 2009 the Bank opened a branch office in Woods Hole, Massachusetts to bring back local banking to that area and expand services to people traveling to and from the Vineyard.
