Mount Saint Vincent company history timeline
From its establishment until the closure of the last federally-run school in 1996, more than 150,000 Indigenous children were placed in residential schools across Canada.
A university logo was introduced in 1999.
Today, children with the most severe mental health challenges are referred to the residential program. As a result of the 2006 loss of Medicaid funding for the residential care for children with mental health issues, the dynamics of the child population at Mount Saint Vincent changed.
In 2009, Mount Saint Vincent took another big step by adopting the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics, a developmentally sensitive approach to trauma treatment.
