In this role you will get to work on one of the premier Infrastructure projects in the world. This position requires a proficient working knowledge of Oracle/Primavera Project Management (P6) and an ability to apply a logical progression of construction knowledge primarily in heavy civil infrastructure work, tunneling, and/or light rail. **Program background** The Gateway Program is the most urgent infrastructure program in the country - a comprehensive set of rail investments that will improve commuter and intercity services, add needed resiliency and, in its later stages, create new capacity between Newark, New Jersey and New York City, the busiest section of the Northeast Corridor (NEC). The first phase of the Gateway Program includes the Hudson Tunnel Project (HTP), which includes the construction of a new two-track tunnel under the Hudson River connecting to Penn Station New York as well as the full rehabilitation of the existing 110-year-old North River Tunnel. The Gateway Development Commission (GDC), established through bi-state legislation, is responsible for the financing and development of the Hudson Tunnel Project. As a tri-venture partner with Parsons, Arcadis, and Mace (MPA) is the Delivery Partners (DP)to provide advice, leadership, and support to GDC for the development and implementation of HTP. This is a master service with task order contracts for a 15-year contract encompassing a broad range of strategic advisory services, project management, design management, construction management, stakeholder coordination, federal compliance, operations support, office administration, and related services. **ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:** + Develop detailed engineering and construction critical path method (CPM) baseline project schedule(s) (via Primavera) based upon input from estimating representatives and/or contract documents. May assemble data from variety of sources. + Resource/cost loading of project baseline schedule(s). Develop baseline and updated cashflow charts/data as requested. + Update and maintain the project schedule at regular intervals, identify and record the impact of work performed, and/or not performed as scheduled. This includes collecting actual dates and quantities installed via field records, progress data supplied by others, and/or visual inspection. Construction Scheduler shall also update and maintain actual costs/resources inputting data consistent with project invoicing. + Support management through preparation and maintenance of forecasts and schedules. May draft construction network diagrams for specific area. + Interface with other departments to provide scheduling/cost data for items such as sub-contract change requests, bid comparisons, new work item estimates, and resolution of potential schedule/work problems. + May provide supervision and/or on-the-job training to clerical and entry level professional personnel assigned to area of responsibility. + Develop preliminary and/or detailed schedules for estimates and work to be bid. + Change orders and claims management. + Coordination with project teams, as needed, to analyze delays and impacts and assist in the development of recovery schedules. + Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction. **JOB REQUIREMENTS:** + 4-year degree in Engineering or Construction Management or related field and 8+ years of related construction scheduling work experience. + Must have experience with self-performing construction activities for heavy infrastructure projects. + Mastery of the Primavera Scheduling Software (P6). + Change orders and claims management experience + Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. + Good attention to detail, with the ability to recognize discrepancies. + Strong written and verbal communications skills. + Experience performing or leading project controls for mid ($50M+) to large ($500M+) capital construction projects, programs, and/or portfolios. + Valid Driver's License to carry out job-related functions. + Must have authorization to work in the United States. **Security Clearance Requirement:** None This position is part of our Critical Infrastructure team. In the role of Lighting Designer I, we'll count on you to: * Work under the guidance of a more-senior designer, and work with architectural project teams on all aspects of the art, science and business of lighting design * Take responsibility for project lighting documentation, CAD/model production, presentation material and renderings, lighting calculations, energy and economic calculations, and building certification compliance credits. * Perform other duties as needed Preferred Qualifications * Intern Lighting Certified (LC) through the National Council on Qualifications for the Lighting Professions (NCQLP) * Master's degree in Architectural Lighting or Architectural Engineering specializing in Lighting Design * 1 year experience or an internship with a lighting design, architectural/engineering, or engineering consulting firm that produced architectural lighting documentation. * Experience with Healthcare, Science and Technology, Federal, or Entertainment facilities preferred. * SketchUp, 3DS Max, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Rhino, Grasshopper, DIVA, iRay * Local candidates preferred Required Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Architectural Engineering specializing in Lighting Design or closely related field * Strong computer skills with core competencies using AGI32, eLumtools, Revit, AutoCad, and Microsoft Office * Strong verbal communication skills * Excellent organization and time management skills * Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment * Able to effectively prioritize multiple tasks * Effective working individually and within team environments * An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must What We Believe HDR is our company. In the role of Mechanical Principal, we'll count on you to: * Coordinate the work of Mechanical Engineers with the balance of a multidiscipline team throughout the entire project's development * Establish client relations, and participate in the marketing, design and production meetings with regard to mechanical systems * Assume the mechanical lead on many projects * Participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance * Conduct schematic, design development and contract document work sessions at project sites in conjunction with the Project Manager, Project Architect and other disciplines * Coordinate workload through the entire project development to complete documents on schedule * Track the financial aspects of projects, and coordinate and adjust the work efforts with the team to ensure that the work is completed within the parameters of the agreed-upon schedule * Work with the Project Manager, Regional Controller and Regional Director for project reviews with corporate management as needed * Perform other duties as needed Preferred Qualifications * Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with Mechanical emphasis * Understand the design process for research and laboratory facilities and facilitate clear communication to provide leadership for the entire design team. * Be a conceptual thinker who can engage and challenge our integrated architecture and engineering teams during the early stages of projects to inform design strategies. * Work with the local leadership to drive the growth of new business through new client relationships, while also continuing to focus on growing our scope of service offering to existing clients. * Develop strategies, capture plans, and initiate/build relationships with key clients. * Collaborate with leadership to support pursuit go/no-go and strategy discussions. * Possess and maintain knowledge of client technical needs and plans, track current and trending business environment, and maintain awareness of client assessment of HDR to anticipate, track, and capture contract assignments. * Work in partnership with others, including other Sectors and Business Groups, to drive new business prospects and more existing client opportunities. * Support the development of qualifications packages and proposal submittals by developing scope, schedule, and fees and addressing staffing and expertise requirements. * Monitor and track projects for successful execution inclusive of technical and financial aspects. * Healthcare, Science and Technology and/or Lab facilities experience * Preference given to local candidates #LI-JC7 Required Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering * A minimum of 10 years in mechanical system design of commercial or institutional buildings * Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered.
