Position Summary
The Project Manager will work closely with the Production Manager, Engineering and Operations Departments and will be responsible for tracking and managing all stages of the project(s) assigned (i.e., research and development, proposal development, design, manufacture, installation, and commissioning).
The primary focus for the Project Manager will be to lead the design, fabrication, testing, and commissioning of systems used to treat liquid and solid waste, primarily in the nuclear industry. This will typically include skid-based systems, piping, and vessels.

RequiredQualifications
Bachelorof Science (B.S.) Degree in Engineering from an accredited college/university.

What you will bring to the team:

The concept of “Open Data” describes data that is freely available, machine readable, and formatted according to uniform technical standards to facilitate visibility and re-use of published data. New York's open data platform is a web-based public data portal that catalogues data and enables data to be dis-coverable. The portal offers access to standardized data that can be accessed and re-used by citizens, business, researchers, journalists, developers, and government to process, trend, and innovate utilizing a singular dataset or combinations of datasets.
Open-NY puts tools for transparency, accountability, and innovation directly into the hands of New Yorkers and people all around the world through a centralized user-friendly interface. This increased visibility provides derivative value as the public is able to analyze and utilize government data, and better understand what is happening in government on all levels - federal, state, and local.
Every day progress and site expansion continues and features economic development, recreation, health, and public services information in a format that is retrieved, downloaded, indexed, and searched by commonly used web search applications.
Day to Day Tasks
The NYS Office of Information Technology Services (ITS) is seeking a Project Manager to:
1) Enhance strategic relationships with executive agencies and localities in support of Open Government;
2) Expand and enhance coordination of apps competitions;
3) Conduct outreach to public and private sector stakeholders in the technology community;
4) Recognize and respond to the community's needs, as well as engage New Yorkers to use our data to benefit all citizens and improve government efficiency; and
5) Promote and advance the technical attributes of the Project.
Note:
Weekly travel to Albany to work with the Chief Data Officer and Chief Technology Officer and others on the ITS team. Additional travel as needed.
Qualifications
Candidates should have at least 84 Months experience, and below should apply
1) 84 months experience in the public sector, overseeing technology projects
2) 84 months experience coordinating and collaborating across multiple entities in support of the strategic objectives of a technology solution
3) 84 months experience with the public sector and its use of technology to optimize data resources. Knowledge and background in making public sector data available in various applications and formats that are machine readable and accessible.
4) 36 months of experience overseeing state or local technology projects.
5) 84 months of demonstrated understanding of technical requirements for large scale data solutions
6) 84 months experience with language and terminology of industry, government, and the tech/data community. to advance and promote the use of Open Data.
