Job Description:
About the Role:
As the site Quality Assurance Supervisor, you will oversee the Quality Assurance (QA) team and programs for the Cambridge, MD, site, a manufacturer of quality aseptic products. This role upholds product quality, food safety, and sanitation in compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
You'll add value to this role by performing various functions including, but not limited to:
Supervise and develop the Quality Assurance team and ensure scheduling needs are met. Provides leadership and technical assistance to help resolve quality related problems.
Oversee, implement, and maintain QA programs, including Formula Control, Allergen Control, Non-Conforming Products, Recalls, Food Safety Plans, and pest control systems.
Conduct GMP and sanitation audits and summarize technical data to identify trends and corrective actions as well as, support quality systems and initiatives such as SPC, SQF, and continuous improvement processes.
Lead efforts to resolve quality-related issues, including customer complaints, product holds, and incidents.
Maintain and oversee food safety regulatory programs to meet requirements
Provide quality and food safety training for employees at all levels.
Important Details:
The anticipated compensation for this position ranges from $73,700 to $110,500 annually. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics and business or organizational needs. For certain roles, the successful candidate may be eligible for annual discretionary merit compensation award, bonus and equity pay.
This is a full-time, on-site role on Third Shift (10:45pm to 7am), Monday through Friday and every other Saturday. Occasional flexibility is required to support alternate shifts.

Bachelor's degree in food science, Biology, or a related field. SQF Practitioner certification and Food Defense Program leadership experience preferred.
Minimum of two years of supervisory experience in a food manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated experience auditing quality systems & manufacturing practices and that all documentation requirements are consistently adhered to meet safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Experience developing and conducting employee training.
Excellent problem solving, leadership, and analytical skills.
Experience using Microsoft Office.

What You'll get to Do:
This position is responsible for Quality Assurance supervision and leadership to personnel in Receiving, NDT, Mechanical and Electrical Inspection areas within the Annapolis, MD facility. Interpret department instructions, company policies and procedures as applied to employees, provide training, ensure housekeeping and health & safety requirements are met, and monitor equipment for current calibration. Apply and prioritize Inspection resources in such a fashion as to meet all cost, schedule, and quality requirements. An understanding and experience in inspection measuring equipment, NDT equipment and drawing interpretation both mechanical and electrical is required.
Key responsibilities include:
Functional leadership for inspection team at the Annapolis site
Establish key process indicators / measures to assess inspection success and performance
Participate in product / program nonconformance reviews and corrective action review board
Manage daily priorities in Receiving, NDT, Mechanical and Electrical Inspection areas
Manage data collection, analysis, metrics, and presentations
Contribute to inspection hours estimates for proposals
Author documentation to instruct operations on successful execution of quality requirements
Support internal audits, process observations, and area assessments
Work with other functional Managers and Directors as well as our local DCMA representatives

Basic Qualifications:

**What You Will Do**

Proficient in Windows operating systems and associated software
Experience working on smartphones and tablets
Ability to work with numerous subcontractors and support staff in an efficient manner
Ability to read Plans, Specifications, and Shop Drawings
Ability to multi-task and establish priorities
Strong communication and analytical skills
CPR/First Aid and OSHA 30 certifications

The Manager, Global Product Quality - Controlled Substances is responsible for ensuring that all activities related to controlled substances across the product lifecycle meet Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and comply with global regulatory requirements, including DEA regulations. This role partners closely with R&D, Supply Chain, Product Development, and Warehousing & Distribution teams to ensure robust quality oversight and regulatory compliance in the handling, storage, manufacturing, and distribution of controlled substances.
The role may also support day to day quality oversight of clinical and commercial products to ensure they are manufactured, tested, packaged, stored and distributed in compliance with Current Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMP) regulations, Otsuka Quality Standards and US/global (if applicable) regulatory requirements.
**Key Responsibilities**
+ Product Oversight: Provide GMP oversight and guidance during the drug development process including review and approval of documentation and collaboration and oversight of suppliers/contract manufacturers.Act as a liaison with regulatory agencies and internal compliance teams regarding controlled substance matters.
+ Quality & Compliance:Serve as the quality and compliance lead for controlled substances, ensuring adherence to DEA regulations and other global controlled substance requirements (e.g., Health Canada, EMA, ANVISA). Develop, implement, and maintain global SOPs and standards for the compliant handling, storage, transportation, and distribution of controlled substances. Ensure warehousing and distribution operations meet all applicable regulatory and internal quality requirements, including security, inventory reconciliation, and chain-of-custody controls.
+ Audit & Inspection Readiness: Support DEA inspections, audits, and regulatory submissions, ensuring readiness and robust documentation. Participates in regulatory inspections and audits as required.
+ Process Optimization: Oversee and enhance quality systems related to product quality complaints, CAPA, deviations, and change control for controlled substances.
+ Data Analysis & Reporting: Monitor and analyze compliance metrics and trends to identify risks and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
+ Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with R&D, Supply Chain, Product Development, and Manufacturing to ensure quality and compliance are integrated throughout the lifecycle of controlled substance products.
+ Training & Documentation: Provide training and guidance to global teams on controlled substance regulations, GMP expectations, and best practices. Authors and maintains SOPs, Work practices and Job Aids, related to assigned quality activities.
**Qualifications**
Required
+ Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field.
+ Minimum 5 - 7 years of experience in a regulated industry (pharmaceutical or medical device), with 3-5 years in pharmaceutical quality, with specific experience in controlled substances and commercial quality operations.
+ Demonstrated expertise in DEA regulations and compliance, including registration, quota management, recordkeeping, and reporting.
+ Working knowledge and understanding of FDA/ICH/USP requirements, including FDA 21 CFR Parts 210, 211, and Part 11 (and Part 820, if applicable), ICH Q7
+ Strong understanding of GMP requirements and global regulatory expectations for controlled substances.
+ Experience managing quality systems (e.g., deviations, CAPA, change control, complaints) in a regulated environment.
+ Proven experience in warehousing and distribution controls, including security, inventory management, and transportation compliance for controlled substances.
+ Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills.
+ Must be detail oriented and able to write and/or review Technical Documents
+ Ability to work effectively in a global, cross-functional, and matrixed environment
Preferred Experience
+ Experience with electronic Quality Management Systems (eQMS) such as Veeva, TrackWise, or similar.
+ Certification in DEA compliance, Quality Assurance, or Regulatory Affairs.
