ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Responsible for regular and periodic safety inspections of plant environment Responsible for safety training of all associates to include annual review of company safety program Responsible for all environmental tasks related to the manufacture of company parts Responsible for accident investigation and follow-up with countermeasures or appropriate training Organize and control the document control system at KMA Advise departments on document updates and recommendations for improvements Conduct internal audits and auditor training for compliance with ISO 9001 & 14001 / CCC / QAV 1 Meet with external auditors for all documents systems and make recommendations to management team based on audit results Responsible for assisting in resolution of any OSHA Complaints and/or Citations Compile all necessary required governmental reporting and adhering to established reporting timelines Lead and direct company Safety Committee and First Responders Team and ensure participation by Associates and track results of committees Responsible for issuing Work Orders related to Safety related issues and tracking for completion/compliance ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 5s Principles must be a priority Preparation of safety news for distribution to Associates via bulletin board or company newsletter Issues forklift licenses when needed and tracks needed renewals Conducts training for cranes, forklifts, fall protection, lock out tag out, etc… Responsible for SDS Updates and investigation of materials/products utilized internally for potential issues to Associate welfare Any other duties as assigned by Manager - Human Resources EDUCATIONAL / EXPERIENCE: Must have a minimum of 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment Must have a minimum of 5 years experience in Safety/Environmental Affairs High School diploma or equivalent Good computer skills a definite plus QUALIFICATIONS: Good communication, interpersonal, and supervisory skills Ability to stand, climb ladder onto machines, lifting 15 lbs., bending and stooping Extensive knowledge of OSHA regulations and reporting requirements Excellent knowledge of environmental regulations and reporting requirements Good analytical skills Basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical concepts Satisfactory work record, including attendance Willingness to work overtime during the week and weekends when needed High degree of attention and care required to prevent injury to self and others Must have good communication and motivational skills Willing to travel occasionally
