POSITION SUMMARY The Project Safety Professional's primary responsibility is to support the project team in the implementation of Nibbi's Environmental Health & Safety program. Some travel is required between projects. Currently, all Nibbi projects are in the SF Bay Area. This position reports to the Safety Field Operations Manager. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Lead in promoting Nibbi's safety culture. Assist project teams in monitoring all safety issues and concerns, and ensure Nibbi's standards of safety are adhered to. Verify all work is performed in compliance with Nibbi's EH&S program and contract safety specifications. Employment is contingent upon the award of the contract. Job Summary: The position of EH&S Manager provides day-to-day safety management to the NASA AMES FOM Support Services. Responsibilities: • Develops, manages and maintains all safety programs to ensure the laboratory's compliance with federal, state, and local safety-related regulations, in addition to environmental health, safety, and loss prevention standards and guidelines. • Resolves and/or escalates all safety and environmental issues in a timely fashion. • Evaluates risk management information to identify potential safety and environmental hazards, impacts, then identifies and recommends corrective and preventive actions. • Performs root cause analysis and investigates mishaps, and all other safety and environmental incidents. • Responsible for timely closure manages all safety and environmental corrective and preventive actions. • Prepares and supports programs related to the Emergency Management Plan and Business continuity Plan. • Responsible for asbestos, lead, confined space, electrical safety, hazardous waste, LOTO, fall protection and other core safety and environmental programs. • Ensures that all new employees and sub-contractors receive necessary Safety, Health, and Environmental training during initial on-boarding. • Co-manages records and documents related to chemicals, MSDS, and refrigerants that are utilized by the department. • Performs safety audits and regular physical inspections of grounds, buildings, equipment, and operations then identifies hazards and incidents of regulatory non-compliance, and recommends corrective measures. • Effectively applies our industry methodology and behavioral modification to enforces safety and environmental standards. • Liaison and Contractor POC for AMES Occupational Safety Program Office (OSPO) Requirements Key Qualifications: • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work. • Strong organizational and planning skills. • Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain an access card to the site. Education and Experience: • Minimum of 10 years of related Safety Management experience required. • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent field required. • Demonstrated understanding of Cal-OSHA, OSHA, SC-AQMD, EPA and other regulatory agencies. • Experience with managing Government contracting requirements included in the FAR, Government Furnished Equipment and Materials, Property Accountability, and Work Control. Preferred: • Certified Safety Professional Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
