The Boeing Safety, Security, and Airworthiness (SS&A) organization is looking for an Entry Level (Level 1) or Associate (Level 2) Airplane Safety Engineer to join their Airplane Safety Engineering Team within Enterprise Safety Mission Assurance in Everett, WA. As an Airplane Safety Engineer, you will be responsible for working cross functionally to ensure airplane level safety analysis are appropriately conducted. Contributes by documenting safety analysis, hazard mitigation, validation and verification activities in compliance with relevant customer and regulatory safety standards
Executing airplane level analyses within the Preliminary Aircraft Safety Assessment and Aircraft Safety Assessment (e.g., Aircraft Functional Hazard Assessment (AFHA), Combined Functional Failure Effects (CoFFE), Common Resource Analysis, Multi-Functional Fault Tree Analysis (MFTA), Functional Design Assurance Level (FDAL) , Common Mode Assessment (CMA), Particular Risk Analysis (PRA), and Zonal Safety Analysis (ZSA))
Providing safety design and analysis expertise to program stakeholders and leadership
Validating and verifying airplane level safety requirements
Developing certification strategies for systems and airplane level safety issues
Representing ASE in airplane level design trade studies, coordination of safety analyses, and functional integration assessments
Leading airplane level safety analyses like Runway Excursion or Airplane Common Mode to ensure integration across multiple functional systems
Utilize Model Based System Engineering tools to analyze architectures/designs and develop safety deliverables
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
~1+ years of experience in airplane systems design, analysis, or systems integration (e.g. flight controls, hydraulics, avionics, fuels, etc.). This qualification can also be fulfilled by an aerospace/mechanical/systems engineering capstone project, research, internship, or co-op.

Responsibilities
Prepare and conduct safety training and education programs, new employee safety training and demonstrate the use of safety equipment. Coordinate with vendors to set-up on-site training for team members when necessary.
Conduct audits to ensure team members are up to date in receiving any training that may be required.
Provide training with team members to help prevent future incidents after workplace injuries occur, as needed.
Communicate with Security Manager on a regular basis regarding all training, statuses and concerns.
Coordinate EMT trainings, to ensure EMTs certifications are active.
Partners with Human Resources, Facilities, and other departments as needed, to resolve incidents and concerns.
Ensure property complies with OSHA, State, Tribal, and Federal health and safety regulations.
Respond to emergencies on property (medical emergencies, fires, evacuations, etc.) and serve as part of the Incident Response and Command Teams.
Cover Safety Coordinator responsibilities in the Safety Coordinator's absence, as needed.
Works nights, weekend and holidays as required.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Exceptional guest service skills required
Associates degree (A.A.) in Occupational Health & Safety, Risk Management, or related field preferred; or two to three years' of safety related experience and in-depth knowledge of OSHA guidelines and practices; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must be customer service oriented and have excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to multi-task and work independently; comfortable training large groups.
Ability to work in a challenging environment dealing with sensitive issues and maintain confidentially with strong attention to detail and excellent problem solving, organizational, and time management skills.
Ability to maintain professional, courteous, and effective working relationships with all levels of the organization and outside business contacts.
Proven intermediate skills in Windows, MS Office Programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), and experience with database systems. Ability to prepare reports, correspondence, charts, forms and other information and instructions.
Certificates, Licenses, Regulations
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Class A/3 gaming license from the Stillaguamish Tribal Gaming Agency and Washington State.
Must be able to obtain and maintain driver License.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Washington State Health Card (Food Worker Card).
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Washington State Mandatory Alcohol Server Training (MAST) Class 12 Mixologist Permit.
Must be able to obtain and maintain Certifications in OSHA, EMT, and Lockout/Tagout.
Must be able to obtain and maintain Instructor Certifications in Verbal Judo, Bleed Control, First Aid/CPR/AED, and Hazcom/BBP.
Physical/Mental Demands and Work Environment
Constantly requires the ability to receive detailed information through oral and written communication. The position requires exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Requires repetitive movement daily with sedentary work, occasional bending and crouching. There may be adverse conditions when outside doing checks or walking with vendors. Must have the ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in high-stress emergency situations. Employee is exposed to tobacco smoke on a regular basis. This is a 24 hour, 7 days a week work operation.
