RDTS is in need of a Mail Center Security Specialist (Mail Screener) to support the U.S Dept of State on the Diplomatic Pouch & Mail program in Springfield, VA. This position fully onsite at the State Dept's annex in Springfield, VA, Monday-Friday (possible hours of 6:30am-3:30pm), and available upon successful security clearance verification. ROLE DESCRIPTION This role supports the security, facility, and technical compliance activities for Intelsat US LLC and its subsidiary organization, Intelsat General Communications LLC. The role is critical to ensuring the management of activities related to the company's personnel, facilities, operations, and communications security activities, especially regarding classified programs for the U.S. Department of Defense (“DoD”), Intelligence Community (“IC”), Special Access Programs (“SAP”), and other sensitive customer programs. Conducting preliminary inquiries of actual or suspected compromise of classified information and ensures reporting requirements are met. Knowledge of industrial security, personnel security, and systems security policies and issues sufficient to formulate interrelated and common DHS-wide security policies and procedures. Knowledge of DHS and component organizational structures, applicable security policies, and lines of functional responsibility to effectively coordinate with proper officials on a broad range of tasks. Producing finished documentation such as reports, special studies, policy procedure development. Ability to conduct analyses, evaluations, and internal inspection of security programs, and present oral and written products Write and maintain Industrial Security SOP. Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience. Relevant experience shall include experience within one or more of the standard securities and/or intelligence fields e.g., technical, physical, information, industrial, personnel and operational security. Subject matter expertise and hands-on experience in one or more security and/or intelligence discipline and experience implementing complex government security and/or intelligence programs and policies is preferable. Must be highly organized and have excellent oral and written communication skills. Shall demonstrate a proficiency in various types of information technology applications, such as Microsoft Office, including MS Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint. Familiarity with ISMS, eQIP, CVS, and/or DISS is preferred, but not required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance. Responsibilities Include: * Monitor and escort uncleared persons at the facility. * Provide verbal and written reports regarding pertinent safety, security, facility, or personnel issues/incidents. * Always maintain visual contact and proper line of sight with uncleared personnel. * Respond professionally and courteously to all personnel. * Remain alert and always awake to provide appropriate security monitoring of escorted individuals. * Work around active construction areas and wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. * Work in industrial locations (mechanical and electrical rooms, etc.). * Properly sanitize areas prior to escorting uncleared personnel into designated work areas. * Walk long distances, climb stairs (including stepladders, etc.), sit/stand for long periods of time. * Wear appropriate work attire which may include a company provided dress uniform. * Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
