Compensation
The anticipated base pay compensation range for this position is$176,300.00 to$293,800.00.

Position Details:
We're seeking a Director of Product Engineering to lead our Search organization - the team behind the intelligence that powers discovery across Grainger's digital experiences. You'll support a team of engineeringmanagers, tech leads, and engineers focused on delivering best-in-class search capabilities that serve millions of customers and support billions in revenue.

What You'll Do :
Own the Search Engineering Domain

What You Bring
7+ years of engineering leadership experience, including managingmanagers.
Proven track record of leading teams that build and scale complex search or information retrieval systems.
Deep experience with Agile, CI/CD, cloud platforms (ideally AWS), and modern software engineering practices.
Familiarity with ML-powered search or close partnership with data science teams (bonus: semantic search, vector retrieval, personalization).
Strong product thinking and a bias for impact.
Excellent collaboration, communication, and influence skills - especially across disciplines.
A passion for people development and team health.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).

Duties and Responsibilities Leadership
Act as a trusted technical advisor to engineers, program teams, and leadership.
Ensure engineering team skills and qualifications align with contract requirements.

Facilitate knowledge sharing among engineers at regional, state, and national levels.
Managing technical aspects of engineering services
Provide technical guidance on complex project reviews and data needs to ensure efficient and timely evaluations.
Conduct quality control (QC) reviews for high-impact projects involving savings, incentives, or other critical outcomes.
Review and approve measurement and verification (M&V) plans as needed.

Qualifications
Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, mechanical, electrical, building science, or similar
Minimum 12 years of experience within energy efficiency, building efficiency industry, demand management, or energy management
At least 5 years of leadership experience
At least 5 years of hands‑on engineering experience in an individual contributor role
Excellent attention to detail, writing, interpersonal, training and analytical skills
Demonstrated ability to manage teams, clients, and time effectively, consistently meeting deadlines and anticipating potential challenges.

Compensation & Benefits
Resource Innovations offers competitive salaries based on a candidate's skills, experience and qualifications for the position. The compensation range for the base salary for this position is $140,000 - $190,000. In addition to base pay, employees are eligible for a discretionary annual bonus. The stated salary represents the expected compensation for this position. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as the candidate's experience, education and location.

Compensation
The anticipated base pay compensation range for this position is $131,200.00 to $218,700.00.

Position Details
The CIM Profile team is responsible for creating a unified customer view regardless of the channel the user interacts with. This team is responsible for building out tools to manage customer information efficiently and ensure synchronizations across our various systems.
As engineeringmanager, you will work with the team's product manager, various engineering teams, technical architects, designers and business stakeholders to deliver excellent user experience. You will collaborate closely with our security and SRE teams to ensure best practices are followed. As the central hub for bringing user information together, various engineering teams rely on the data your services provide. As the owner of business-critical systems, you will ensure proper observability and support processes are in place.
You will lead a team of full stack developers and QE engineers, where you will champion the best development and quality practices, provide technical guidance, partner with the product team, and hold accountability for team execution. Having a growth mindset, you will coach team members, identify areas of improvement, and support your team's continuous betterment.

You Will:
Provide guidance and leadership to Software and Quality Engineers, helping define their roles and responsibilities.
Support team members in developing and following personal development plans aligned with career growth objectives.
Collaborate with Product Managers to align product roadmaps and translate requirements into actionable strategies.
Promote continuous improvement in software development processes and workflows.
Mentor Software and Quality Engineers support technical and professional development.
Ensure adherence to established development standards, coding practices, and quality assurance processes.
Monitor all the development activities, testing activities, deployment activities, code quality, and customer satisfaction.
Track and analyze metrics to monitor team effectiveness and quality outcomes.
Identify process inefficiencies or quality issues and implement improvement initiatives.
Serve as a point of contact for escalation related to the team's projects and deliverables.
You Have:
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field required.
5+ years' experience in Software Engineering required.
2+ years' experience leading developers required.
Ability to manage Agile sprint teams, vendor relationships, on-shore/off-shore teams.
Technical Knowledge in:
Java & J2EE stack with basic Java frameworks (Spring, Hibernate, Spring Boot).
Web application front-end frameworks (Svelte, Bootstrap, Angular).
CI/CD, automated testing, automated monitoring.
Containerization platform (Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift).Cloud stack (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure).
Software security and basic vulnerabilities.
Micro-services architecture.
Event-streaming technologies (Kafka).
Familiarity with additional programming languages (Kotlin, Python).
