Manager Engineering Operations Your role The Manager Engineering Operations is the technical lead for all data center engineering operations at one or more facilities and is responsible for the direct supervision of facility and data center engineers. He/she reports directly to the Manager Data Center Operations and is responsible for the review/approval/implementation of SOPs/MOPs/EOPs for the site and the proper implementation and training of these procedures. The Manager Engineering Operations responsibilities include oversight of general facility operations and will work in conjunction with the site remote hands, security, and janitorial teams. The Manager Engineering Operations will have experience in data center mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. He/she will possess knowledge of large-scale data centers, including state-of-the-art electrical distribution systems, static and rotary UPS, emergency standby generation, fire alarm/suppression and monitoring systems. Track operational metrics and other data to provide Senior Management oversight and control for both snapshot data and long-term trend analysis. Develop, evaluate, and recommend improvements to complex equipment and system SOO's, SOP's, MOP's, and EOP's when possible. Complete understanding and knowledge of the local customers business and datacenter operation. Identify process-based improvements that generate operational and financial efficiencies including the development and presentation of the business case. Support Real Estate Manager with the management of expenses and assist with budgeting, forecasting and reporting requirements by providing capital expense requirements and justifications. Assist with troubleshooting issues as needed Provide onsite support during major maintenance activities if needed Ensure proper procedures are written and reviewed before such activities Qualifications: 5-10 + years experience Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or similar engineering degree Licensed PE / EIT a Plus Previous experience at an Engineering Consulting firm a MUST Experience with hyperscale data center design, testing and commissioning Must have experience managing an engineering design team Previous experience using: Revit MEP projects, AutoCAD MEP, BIM a plus Experience with Electrical Systems such as UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply), Generators, Switchgears, and Batteries a MUST Experience working on complex data center/mission critical facilities design projects a must Experience with Mechanical Systems (HVAC, CFD [Fluid Dynamics], Boilers, Chillers, Pumps, CRAC / CRAH Units, Air Handling Units, etc.) Experience in operational handover of mission-critical facilities Experience developing design/commissioning/operational standards and guidelines Experience performing root-cause analysis on complex failure scenarios Experience developing operating procedures and emergency procedures Experience performing field observations during construction Self Starter, self motivated, and should prioritize well and have the ability to successfully work independently Previous experience in the Military / Military Veterans a huge plus!
